JM: If you could catch an NFL pass from one quarterback of your choosing, who would it be and why?
GD: One NFL quarterback playing right now? I gotta go with Aaron Rodgers. I’ve been watching him my whole life. My grandfather is actually a big Green Bay fan. We’ve been watching Green Bay games together dating back to the Brett Favre days. That’s why I’m going with Aaron Rodgers. There’s so many other great quarterbacks as well. Guys like Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson. All of those guys are so great to me but Aaron Rodgers would be my choice.

When's he likely to get picked?

Dream...er...preach on! The FA pool is so shallow regarding MLB I'd certainly look early for a difference maker in the draft. I think moving up is the only way to get Murray...but how far? I've seen early teens to mid 20s...and we've seen in the past guys just fall.Frank Nova wrote:I really want Kenneth Murray at 30. And then hopefully someone like Raegor, Hamler or KJ Hill in the 2nd. That would be my ideal start to the draft right now.

Drawing up FA positional priorities and targets and potential mutual interest is paramount going into this draft. Really wish there would be a week or two of FA period before the draft.
Edit: Just checked Walter and they now have Murray @ 32.
Not that mocks mean anything at this point.

Packers drafted Rashan Gary (No. 12 overall) over Noah Fant (No. 20 overall)
Gary made very little impact this season, which is not unexpected considering he was a bit of a tweener to start. The New Jersey native is incredibly talented but outside linebacker also seemed like a strange fit. While the Packers continued their theme of revamping their defense, they also bypassed an opportunity to add speed and explosiveness at the tight end position like they haven't had since the days of Jermichael Finley. Veteran tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Jimmy Graham are a combined 68-years-old. It would benefit them to add some youth to that room and another outlet for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Fant, the second tight end selected in the 2019 draft, showed a lot of improvement as the season progressed. He ended the year with 40 receptions for 562 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers could have been even better while catching passes from Rodgers.
Jets drafted Jachai Polite (No. 68 overall) over Terry McLaurin (No. 76 overall)

To be sure, all of the selections in this link are made with 20/20 hindsight; but several folks in our humble brood weren't happy with the Gary pick, as soon as it was announced.Packers drafted Rashan Gary (No. 12 overall) over Noah Fant (No. 20 overall)

That guy went from surefire 1st round to being a calculated(and lost) 3rd round gamble. The combine, especially the interviews ran up all kinds of red flags.

What happened on his interviews?

Yep. I'm actually a big fan of the idea if only it would mean the Packers aren't going to make the bad decision of giving Jones a big deal.Renzen wrote:If he were to inexplicably fall to #30 in round 2, due to workload concerns, would anybody draft Jonathan Taylor?

Plus doubling down on the run might not be the worst idea around

Of those 4, only Perine would intrigue me... and he is at least 2 levels below Taylor. Taylor is threat to take it to the house anywhere on the field. His size, speed, and power combo are the best we have seen since probably AP, and that is something we should not pass up because we could pick up a possibly good running back a couple rounds later.Matches Malone wrote:RRyder823 wrote:Yep. I'm most definitely in agreement that we should add another running back or two because of how important they are to the offense, but I think round 2 is too early for one, even with a talent like Taylor on the board. I think you can get guys like Darius Anderson, Joshua Kelley, Eno Benjamin, or Perine later down in the draft and any one of them could develop into a good back for us.

Normally I’d hate to write a certain need in ink for their round one pick but they almost have to go wide receiver. As deep as this class is, there’s likely to be a huge receiver run from the late 1st into the mid second. You miss losing out on some serious talent by waiting

Same here man. I am BPA all day, but I sure hope it lines up where a WR is justifiable as the best option. There's so many god options early and we need one, so bad(WR).
