I get where Doubs is coming from, he just watched Watson sustain a major injury and miss out on a boatload of money. Why risk another concussion/major injury and suffer the same fate?

Problem is with the Packers drafting 2 more WRs Doubs has lost most of his leverage, and the organization would be committing malpractice investing in him now. Packers should hold the line and not extend, they can reassess after the season. If he signs a deal elsewhere just take the comp pick and move on.

Honestly, at this point, Jaire returning feels like a risk worth taking for the upside, despite his injury history and contract.

Just let him stay for the year. We need more talent in the room and when he's healthy, he was still playing well. Plus, if they release him, I could very easily see him playing for a division rival and that's just annoying.

And it would be funny to see all the Packer podcasters and journalists lose their **** after saying he's 100% gone and for fans to get over it.

Think Doubs is gone for sure. Watson might stay if he and the Packers agree to a one year deal or something like that to rehab his value.

Just bring him back. If he has a great year you can trade him next year for something. If he's hurt again you can just release him.

We don't really need the cap space so if they can come to some sort of agreement I'd bring him back, unless he's a locker room cancer(which he might be)

He did quit on the team at one point. It seems he's got some demons and only the locker room knows if they're worth dealing with.

Players seem to like and support Jaire. If they bring him back they must be pretty sure he won't cause a problem. We'll see. The other option is to release him, I can't imagine any team taking on his salary in a trade.

Every player would like an extension rather than risking injury in their contract year. But I can't imagine Doubs getting one. Hopefully he's motivated enough not to cause a problem.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

“For the first time since the end of the season, the Jaire Alexander saga takes a POSITIVE turn.

A source told @RobDemovsky the Packers and Alexander are working on possible resolution that would keep Jaire in Green Bay.

While nothing is set in stone yet, this is great news for a team who has questions at CB going into 2025.”

So I think it’s possibly been both the Packers and Jaire and his camp trying to get the best deal. The Packers didn’t want to pay him his full salary with all the injuries and Jaire wanting to get his money. So put him on the block and see what the league thinks what his value is. Packers wouldn’t except a lowball offer and had a suitor lined up at one point but they also didn’t want to pay him his full salary. So the deal fell through. So here we are now and hopefully the two sides can find common ground enough to make it work this year at least. I don’t think cutting him was ever on the table for the Packers. To much dead money for nothing in return.

If Jaire does come back then you're looking at Jaire & Nixon as your starting outside CBs with Hobbs in the slot. Bullard all of a sudden becomes the backup slot CB and your top backup S and Valentine becomes the top backup perimeter corner. Secondary would look pretty deep at that point

At that point I think you have to feel good about the depth at basically every position besides maybe Nose Tackle(if Kenny goes down then we are looking at a lot of Brinson/Stackhouse snaps)

We've talked plenty about Jaire but honestly, Doubs turning into a low-key diva is getting pretty **** annoying. If dude didn't miss 4-games this past season (one because of suspension/quitting on the team), he would have easily led the team in targets for the 2nd straight season. He's got nothing to complain and pout about.

Happy to move on from Doubs tbh. Good player who has the ego of a great player.

There's no new information indicating that Doubs has transformed into 'a low-key diva'. At all. Cite the reporting. Anything we're hearing now doesn't rise to the level of speculation. Repeating it as fact doesn't even qualify as hot gossip. And on this point even when word initially broke that Doubs wasn't at practice, the fanboy blogger hangers-on went into overdrive BEFORE having any facts in-hand whatsoever. Staff & players were out of town, so no journalistic sources could be found, and when they were back, 'reportage' claiming (for ex.) that Doubs 'had refused to address the team' had to be retracted--because coach, players, and Doubs stated otherwise. Those not-too-honorable claims had no basis in fact. The corrected stories reported at that point are the only basis for any jumping-off point for speculation. Are staff @ 1265 and Doubs' agents talking? Sure, I'd hope so. Doubs and coaches and all of us are happy to sort it out in training camp and no doubt Doubs wins a spot based on performance. AS others have noted, there won't be an extension unless things change. But an amicable solution for both parties can't be arranged unless both sides are talking, and that's no indicator of a diva-like behavior. UNLIKE Doubs, JAVON Walker used a starkly different MO of expressing dissatisfaction. And we can all be grateful the Packers don't talk about internal personnel issues to the media. It pays off huge in instances like this. Doubs has in fact produced. Packers have in fact minimized *any* & *all* chances that *unavailability* for whatever reason by loading a room (WR, OL) with options. Concussions, lingering doubts or whatever, their objective is never to be left in the lurch. Doubs needed some perspective, had something to handle, handled it. That may not get him out of the doghouse, but if he stays, it's not the bad doghouse some here really really tray hard to make it out to be.

He did quit on the team at one point. It seems he's got some demons and only the locker room knows if they're worth dealing with.

There's no information that would support that misreading. Doubs had a family matter to address. He handled it. Teammates & coaches had his back--and corrected the record re weak claims & speculation. Some ppl work reeally hard to put a reading in there that was never reported as fact by real journalists. Loose talk goes straight to credibility.
Doubs produced. He's never been a bad apple. Deferring to Packers' process and taking their perspective at face value would at minimum allow MLF, Gute and Doubs to all do their jobs. Only fair. Maybe he's released just to minimize all risk from concussions or to eliminate any future weirdness. But that should be based on facts on the record, not some inflated storyline in which the fanbase polices minor incidents when all reporting indicated the situation was well in-hand and responsibility addressed with standard Packers integrity. As of the Matthew Golden pick at #23, we've got a strong WR room, and trying to find an issue instead of letting it play out in training camp does not help you, and it does not help us.

Doubs is plainly ego-less. He's never pulled a Michael Irvin, or a Javon Walker, or pick your diva. He's never stood in front of the cameras and crowed about anything, let alone demanded adulation from fans, media, or whoever. Get real on that. Doubs has not sought attention. Doubs is the last guy to waggle his butt, do outlandish celebrations in the end zone, or heap praise on himself. He's never once said 'LOOKIT ME! LOOKIT!' Romeo Doubs is the EPITOME of Vince Lombardi's edict that "When you score a TD, ACT LIKE YOU'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE." What more do you need than that reality.

Sources: The #Packers are exercising the fifth-year option on DT Devonte Wyatt, locking in a guaranteed $12.9M for the 2026 season.

The No. 28 pick in 2022 has totaled 12 sacks in three seasons with Green Bay.
