It's not as good of a package as I would have expected, tbh. Lock ain't it. Milwaukee own Shelby Harris is on the other side of his prime. Fant is a nice piece, but isn't a game changer. The picks are to be expected, though.
If I was Seattle, I would have insisted on Surtain.

When you're trading for a QB to compete now you probably want to keep your good players.humanrefutation wrote:It's not as good of a package as I would have expected, tbh. Lock ain't it. ...and if you're trading your Pro Bowl level QB you probably want to get the best package possible.

Can't wait to see how this plays out.
Teams aren't worth a damn without a QB, so at best they draft some solid players and then have to give up a haul of their own to acquire a franchise QB 2-3 years from now.

Also, trading Surtain would have cost them over 10 mil in cap space.

Re: ATL - Broncos Acquire Russell Wilson
Pretty impressive haul for a short QB who relies on his legs a lot and is gonna turn 34 during the next season. Not to mention Wilson was pretty poor to end the 2020 season and had an even worse 2021 season. Will be interesting to see how it works out with a rookie coach but I guess at least Broncos' O-line is better than Seattle's which should help Wilson out.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Very happy Rodgers coming back. But if that Denver package was ever an option for Green Bay…..wow.

Russ had a full no trade, I think. So if he wouldn't accept a trade, no point countering on it.

Leery of Washington's potential for ownership and front office chaos now that there's different investigators involved?

Yeah, that's probably it.

Wait, there's people that think that Denver package isn't a massive haul for a guy who's never sniffed an All-Pro selection? Maybe Russ is the guy that makes Denver a contender, but that's only because this is a Stafford situation and the team already has all the other pieces in place. Not because Russ is this franchise altering superstar.

Re: ATL - Broncos Acquire Russell Wilson
Tell me the last time there was this many good-to-great QBs in one conference.
If Mac (I don't think so) and Trevor (I do think so) progress and you add them to Josh Allen, Herbert, Burrow, Mahomes, Russ, Lamar
If I am Deshaun Watson get me the he** out of the AFC.

He was a second team All-Pro in 2019. I think that's more than a sniff of an All-Pro selection (putting aside the limitation of that metric because there is only 1 First Team All-Pro QB every season). 9x Pro Bowler. 101.8 career passer rating.
Russ has never been my cup of tea as a QB, but he's, without question, a franchise player. The numbers back that up.

Market is drying up quickly on QB's. Curious if Jimmy G now because the belle of the ball and gets a big deal from a QB starved team. Pitt, Indy, Carolina, Washington and probably some other teams I'm not thinking about.
