I usually would rather wait on TE, especially this year with a deep class, but certainly don't begrudge anybody who wants to go for one of the top guys. If you think it helps give Love as many weapons as possible and maximizes his reps, I'm all for it. If they do go that route, Kincaid is my choice.

Agree 100%. He’s a more explosive Ertz.

Then it seems unlikely we'd draft him no? Knowing how important blocking is to the Packers I can't see them using a 1st round pick on a TE or WR who can't block. Part of what I think drew them to Watson last year was how good of a blocker he was in college

FWIW: Packers awarded 2 compensatory picks for 2023

Packers receive two compensatory picks in 2023 NFL Draft
Green Bay awarded extra fifth- and seventh-round selections

Mar 09, 2023 at 04:30 PM

Mike Spofford

For Green Bay, factored into the compensatory formula were the losses of offensive lineman Lucas Patrick, defensive back Chandon Sullivan and receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and the signing of defensive lineman Jarran Reed.

In effect, Patrick and Reed canceled one another out, while Valdes-Scantling netted the fifth-round pick (No. 170 overall) and Sullivan resulted in the seventh-rounder (No. 256 overall).

The Packers now have 10 picks heading into the draft at the end of next month, beginning with the No. 15 overall selection in the first round.

Green Bay owns one pick in each of the first four rounds, two in the fifth, and four in the seventh.

The Packers added one extra seventh-rounder from Jacksonville in the Cole Van Lanen trade last summer. They also surrendered their sixth-round pick, while acquiring another seventh-rounder, back in 2021 in the trade for punter Corey Bojorquez.

IF Rogers is traded, and picks come back to GB, given the narrowness of the CAP window and the potential plethora of picks, should they trade some of them out to the future?

If they wanted to go weapons in the first round I think I'd want Robinson and Kincaid in the first, and move up for a WR at the end of the first or early second. I know Jones just reworked his deal, but Robinson is good enough all over the field to justify it. Just give Love all the damn weapons.

But I wouldn't hate any number of combinations. Johnston and Kincaid, Kincaid and Mayer, JSN and Addison....whatever. I think this draft kind of sucks so getting guys you like at positions you think they'll be good in will be most important. Also wouldn't hate a trade down. Not a fan of a trade up unless Carter starts to fall.

Maybe. Part of me wonders how much Love is going to factor into the draft. You can make a good case to build a bruising blocking machine. Mayer and Washington would fit. Or one of those two and an OT.

I still don't know what to think about Washington. I've been on him forever but that was when I thought he was a sleeper 2nd rounder.

How did a bunch of first round WRs do in that time?

Not sure I'd use a high pick on a RB but I'm certainly open to moving on from Dillion/Jones in the next year or so. Tank Bigsby, McBride, and Zach Evans seem like good backs you can get later in the draft. Achane seems like a crazy gadget guy if you want to spend a 2nd or 3rd on him.

Since 2012, a total of 39 wideouts have been drafted in the first round. Chase (2021), Jefferson (2020), and Beckham Jr. (2014) are the only three to finish in the top 10 as rookies. Just three others -- Waddle (2021), Evans (2014) and Benjamin (2014) -- finished WR11-20. Cooper (2015) and Ridley (2018) both ranked WR22 as rookies.

If we’re being honest, however, it can be argued that 22 of the 35 rookie wideouts (63 %) taken in the first round between 2012-2020 have disappointed on some level.

Most websites have charts or lists that can't be copied and pasted

I'd be wary of TE high as I agree you want a premium position when drafting in the upper portions but it if you believe a guy is a stud it can still be worth a swing depending how the board falls.

Only position that I'd remove off the board high in round one is RB.

Kincaid turns 24 in Oct. Not a fan of 'old' rookies. Just a weird hang-up of mine.

Don't know if it's been posted here, but apparently the Packers really like Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee

Riley Moss has been catching my eye lately as a day 2/3 guy. I wonder if a move to safety is in his future.

How has Rasul Douglas looked when he has played safety? Kind of wonder if that is part of the plan to pivot to him as a safety next year?

I think he'll definitely be in the mix back there. Also, have to see how Stokes comes back from injury to make sure he can take back his outside spot.

Seems cheap no? Pick swap, 2 2nds, a 1st and a WR who is good, but probably only worth a 2nd or 3rd at most.
