Now Watkins is injured? I’ve read that Sammy had some challenges with alcohol abuse in the past, which may have played a role in his availability. I hope for his sake that he’s been able to stay sober and can move forward with his career here.

Idk. I don't think it is necessarily a good thing a guy playing a skill position that requires extreme accuracy gets better suddenly bulking up at age 40. Like losing weight and being mobile is usually good but I would be a little worried it affects his throwing.

A freak injury doesn't make it the worst contract in history.

As of now, it is the worst contract in Packers history if you base it on production received verses amount paid to player. I base contracts on production, plain and simple.

So 2 follow up surgeries on it. Probably a ton of scar tissue getting cleaned up.

He sure seems to have that Dan Campbell tough personality. I gathered that most of the Raider players thought pretty highly of him as the interim HC. I'd bet there were some that didn't appreciate that approach, but I didn't hear of it on the sports web.

I know its just day one, but isn't that less than a decades experience between all five? Though, to be fair, lets see if those guys are starting caliber NFL players.

It's too bad Turner had to be a cap casualty. I know he wasn't everyone's preferred guy, but they could really use some experience period and a guy who has played more than one position.

That's a lot of offensive guys out who you're banking on being major contributors (Watson, Watkins, Tonyan, Bahk, Jenkins). At the point where I'd be kinda surprised if Watkins even makes the 53-man cut. As excited as I am about the defense, looks like they're really gonna have to carry us in the early part of the season.

Slaton taking another step and turning into a legit starter at nose will mean Kenny can unleash havoc. Front seven is just going to be nasty

I would be shocked if Watkins doesn't make the 53. His issue is health, but he's been productive when he plays. Now, if he goes into cutdown day with a significant injury, maybe, but if he's ready to go by game 1 he's going to be on the roster.
