It would be interesting to hear the conversation between Gute, LaFleur, and Biassacia on that topic. I can imagine that was not a brief convo.

If the Center from Iowa fell to #22 or #28 would anyone consider that? he's kinda small for how i usually like my O-line at 6"2, but that might just be from watching Badger football for so long now....saw him mocked in the top 10 a lot throughout the year....Always good to have 7 lineman who can play good football, but to your point we have gotten a lot of solid guys in the last couple drafts that can play

There is no way in hell they are picking an OC in the first three rounds after selecting one in the 2nd round last year: a player who played well.

Im not expecting him to play Center with Myers there, but cant he play Guard?? If a top 10 talent can be added on the OLine im all for it...

He's not a Packers kind of player. He weighs 290. His short arms preclude him from playing OT. He's a great option for a team that can use a guy like him; not so much for the packers.

I think it's basically impossible to distinguish how much of Crosby's trouble kicking FGs was him and how much was the hold. (I mean, I guess they can figure that out with film study to some degree)

We don't have 56, we have 53 and 59. But according to the point chart 22 and 53 (780 + 370) would get you 13 (1150) on the dot.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

This was interesting. I actually moved up from 28 to 24 because when I got to 22, there were three players who had dropped significantly.
#22 Jordan Davis DI GA
#24 Devonte Wyatt DI GA
#53 Travis Jones DI CT (too good to pass up here)
#59 Jalen Tolbert WR S. Ala
#92 John Metchie WR ALA
#132 Zach Tom OT WakeF
#139 Sterling Weatherford S Mia(OH)
#142 Tyreek Smith Edge OSU

so, that should take care of interior defensive linemen for the next decade or so. . .One could be traded later.

Interesting result but I think there's about a 0% chance the Packers allocate even two of those first three picks towards interior defensive lineman.

What do we think of Karlaftis from Purdue? To me, he seems like someone who would be a really good fit at 22 if he fell that far. Get some of that Greek mojo working in the Packers favor too.

He’d anger a lot of casuals who are hell bent on a receiver at 22 but he’d likely be the guy. Young, freak athlete, premium position. That’s a Gutey guy for sure

Most fans get excited about high ceiling edge rushers, it is IOL and DL that typically make fans rage. The only reason I wouldn't draft him in the first is because there are a number of big bodied edge guys that I think we could get a bit later. I'd rather use that pick to draft a starting tackle or impact WR (or even a disruptive starting DL to pair with Kenny).

I'm not sure about his fit in a 3-4 scheme, but he's too talented to pass up. Same with Jordan Davis. Either of those two fall I want the Packers to be all over it

I agree, but each of them was the guy I had most highly rated among the guys who were available.
How about this one, I traded up for #23 and #24 because guys dropped, and my whole draft was:
#22 Devin Lloyd, LB Utah
#23 Devonte Wyatt DI GA
#24 Chris Olave WR OSU
#59 Trey McBride TE CSU

Do you not remember Kenny Clark being drafted?

I bolded an important word from my previous post. Who did they want? There were certainly players picked after him who've had better careers (Derrick Henry, Tyreek Hill, Michael Thomas, Dak Prescott), but most of those guys weren't options at #27.
A team can almost always make use of another iDL in their rotation.

If he likes Gary, he should like Karlaftis. Similar size, athleticism.

The guy that Gutey walks away with one of those first three picks is Drake Jackson. Definition of a Gutey guy.
