I'm over this stuff. Rodgers knew what he was doing. At this point he's holding the team up from making necessary moves.

I think at this point Gute should have one goal: do whatever you can to get $20 million under the cap so they can tag Adams. Trading Rodgers does not help or factor into that at all. Extending him before the start of the new year would, though.

This was a good explainer[/i] of how they might go about doing so.

- Extend or trade Aaron Rodgers
- Restructure David Bakhtiari's deal
- Release Za'Darius Smith
- Restructure Kenny Clark's deal
- Release or extend Preston Smith
- Extension for Jaire Alexander
- Release Randall Cobb
- Release or restructure Adrian Amos
- Release or restructure Mason Crosby
- Release or restructure Marcedes Lewis
- Restructure or release Dean Lowry
- Restructure or release Billy Turner
- Restructure Aaron Jones

That's a LOT of moving parts.

Who made that statement?

Bob McGinn. I know many on here don't like him but I agree ont this. Certainly Rodgers has made big plays in crunch time (see first Niners game this year) but there are many times he seems to play more for his QB rating. I appreciate he isn't as careless as Favre was but there are times when playing it safe protects your numbers but doesn't help the team.

I didnt see it as much this year, but feel he did that with sacks and fumbles. In my crazy mind, it seemed like Rodgers had a well that guy was unblocked so not my fault I got sack or didn't hold onto the ball versus throwing it away.

Somehow this clip seems appropriate for Aaron's world today:

Can you be both enlightened and an NFL player?

They seem like totally opposite goals - one is worldly detachment, the other is worldly glory chasing.

Unless Rodgers can tap into a higher consciousness or whatever and just detachedly dismantle defenses. Interesting strategy.

It's still early in the offseason.

Plenty of time to make moves if he retires, or comes back, or requests a trade.

If he retires though, he screws us.

If he retires, what's his cap number for next season? Zero?

$26 mil. Same as if they trade him.

Small note one of the things they amanded on his contract last year is he wouldn't be responsible for paying back the prorated portion of his signing bonus if he retires.

I feel like Rodgers probably wants his own HOF class, to be the only first ballot QB the year after Brady. I understand why that doesn't make sense to an average person, but wouldn't shock me that it was a factor.

I wonder if some of the tough conversations that Aaron said he had with Gute, have anything to do with Davante? Maybe Gute said we'll bring you back on a big extension, and we'll finally invest high draft capital in WR's, but we have to move on from Davante. I very much doubt Gute wants to pay a 29-year-old wideout a mega deal.

I'm still kind of shook that part of the cleanse is eating some weird butter for 3 days until it's coming out both ends.

Rich people have too much **** time on their hands.

Ghee is essentially pure butterfat. Butter with the water cooked off. When it cools it sets up like butter, but keeps damn near forever

As part of the culture who eats it, my mom makes her own, and let me tell you it is delicious!

But no way in hell would I eat only that for 3 days. That would be utterly disgusting and would ruin it for me forever, plus with the added bonus of 20% more clogged arteries, probably.

I've also never heard of this practice until today, so not certain how common it is.

Never heard of it but I like butter so I'd give it a shot.

I personally stay away from cleanses. Years ago I drank some epsom salt to clean myself out and might have taken too much because the next 24 hours were something I never want to experience again.
