Ron Swanson wrote:Maybe we're waiting till just before the Bears game to **** can Barry so that we get some of that residual post-firing-energy going into the playoffs? Idk, I'm just looking for silver linings with the defense at this point. I'm almost never a fan of mid-season firings, but you can certainly argue that keeping him even these last 2-3 games is actively hurting your team and the development of the young guys. Like, I'm not under any illusion that Jerry Montgomery is gonna fix any of this stuff, but he could at least provide that short-term morale boost simply by "not being Joe Barry". It can't get any worse.

To my mind, there's also the tone-deaf look to MLF's comments about holding Ja accountable, while looking the other way for Barry's failings.

I know their situations are different from the outside, but probably not viewed so different by the players.

Ron Swanson wrote:I think it's fair to say it's been a weird situation with his health this season, but it also seems like a lot of people are using it to justify their dislike of his personality and I think that's kinda ****. I know as Packer fans we tend not to have too many of the cocky, diva-ish guys, but this is football and not every dude needs to be a Boy Scout. When Barry's gone next year and we're still seeing the same stuff? He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt then.

Dude almost turnover over the ball before the clock started. There's a difference between being cocky and putting a list of WRs in your gonna shut down this year and being a guy who hurts the team. Judging from MLFs comments it seems like a pattern. His post game comments were not just cocky, they were AB-esque delusional.

Watson has been such a bummer this year. Hopefully, next season he can actually stay relatively healthy.

It wouldn't surprise me if Campbell has already played his last game as a Packer. He's got a potential wad of cash due next year if he plays and a dead cap hit of $11+ mill if he's gone.

Hes been awful this season, clearly need something to be done in the middle of the defense.

Love now has 30 TDs on the season. The Bears franchise record is 29 LMAO.

And to think Bears fans were chanting "We want Justin" after his recent stretch of barely mediocre play.

The sad thing is that his trade value has plummeted this year. His production is down and he looks like a headcase.

No doubt, but if he isn’t buying in, then you dump him for a cheeseburger at this point.

This team is performing incredibly well for being so young and inexperienced. Don’t let negativity ruin the next several years of progress.

FYI for those like me not paying attention and shocked to see the Bears only 1 game back......they have been eliminated.

A loss keeps them at 10 for the draft. Lots of teams bunched together, so guessing a win would move them back 5 spots. Wonder if they hold anyone out.

Other random thoughts:
-Packers beating the Panthers didn't matter anyways. It was weird enough caring about another teams draft spot when we are trying to make the playoffs, but Panthers are so bad they had a cushion even when trying.
-In another universe, if the Bears stopped trying they could've had Caleb and MHj (assuming the 3 QBs go 1-2-3). That would've been one of the most hyped incoming offensive draft classes in my lifetime.

Watson - Doubs - Reed - Wicks - Melton - Heath
Musgrave - Kraft

Yes, injury concerns with Watson, but good god the upside of that group

Obviously a really solid group there. Watson's injury bug is a concern and from there its just close your eyes and pick 1 wr a week to be hurt and you've got it covered. Wouldn't mind running it back next year with this group, maybe replacing Toure on Active with Melton unless we are in a position to obtain a stud definitive #1 via trade or someone falls in draft that we cannot pass on. TE appears to be set for years to come as Musgrave (pre-injury) and Kraft have really shown a ton of potential, and even Sims to an extent has shown some promise.

Zero chance they hold anyone out. They have been trying to win for the entire season and appear happy with the top pick and then wherever they end up. This game is the Bears Super Bowl.
