Oh, I meant take Davis at #22 and Dean at #28. That's literally my dream draft.

And with the 3rd pick, George Pickens. All 3 Bulldogs. Perfect match.

Who can we pick from Grambling?

Only if they're the 21st Century reincarnation of Willy Davis..... :D

Who wants this mock to come true? WR after WR. I'm not as high on the first two as most people, but they represented value at the picks I took them.
#22 Drake London, WR USC
#34 Treylon Burks, WR ARK
#53 Christian Watson, WR, NDS
#64 Jalen Tolbert, WR S.AL
#66 Darian Kinnard, G/T Kentucky
#96 Max Mitchell, OT Louisiana
#100 Khalil Shakir, WR Boise State
#110 Lucas Goedeke, OT C.Mich
#115 Mathew Butler, DT TN
#116 Tariq Castro-Fields, CB PSU
One of those 5 WR can become a #1.

I'm actually highest on Watson, Tolbert and Shakir, relative to where they're drafted.

we would be really thin on the Edge and getting after the QB if this was our draft..think it would be a little overkill on the WRs

From the offseason thread

M-C-G wrote:‘Fantasizing’ about Watkins maybe used for kick returns is um, quite the stretch take based on what was said.

It was also followed up with a post about needing to add ST returners in the draft. Stay golden though.

If they can walk away with Christian Watson and Marcus Jones they can kill four birds with 2 stones. Watson takes the top off the defense and gives them a legit threat on kick returns while Jones can be an upgrade on the former Sullivan snaps and handle punt returns. Probably takes picks 28 and 92 respectively. Though Jones could easily be gone by then I suppose

I don't think Watson would return kicks

He returned kickoffs in college. In his jr & sr years he averaged 26.9 a return, pretty good, though obviously at a lower competition level.

If he moves right in as the #1 guy, he wouldn't be returning kicks. If he's the 3-4th WR, I think he'd fit into the mix on kick returns.

I'd guess Watson has about a 90% chance to be there at #28 and could drop to the late 40s.
I'd guess Jones will probably not be there at 92 (maybe 25% chance), but should be there in the early 80s.
It's really hard to know. It just takes one GM who is in love with them.
I wonder if the Pack will cross Jones off their list because of his height. If so, that's a mistake.

I'd be happy with today's Mock. I missed a bunch of guys I coveted, but got great value.
#37 Treylon Burks, WR ARK
#43 Leo Chenal, LB WIS
#53 Boye Mafe, EDGE, MN
#58 Trey McBride, TE, Colo.St.
#65 Darian Kinnard, G/T Kent.
#68 Troy Andersen, LB Mont.St.
#81 Alec Pierce, WR CIN
#92 Nick Cross, S, Maryl.
#93 Marcus Jones, CB, HOUS.
#112 Matthew Butler, DT, TN
#115 Zyon McCollum, CB SamHous
#116 Matt Zalesko, OT NorthDak
#145 Tyquan Thornton, WR, BAY
#81-93 went very well for me.

I know you're not comparing 225 lb Patterson at 6'-2" - who took RB snaps to a 200 lb Watson at 6'-4". And yes - it's been discussed before. That's a tall target to hit for a coverage guy running full speed. Ask Terrell Buckley how much 2" matters

He was 208 at the combine, and I'm sure you know most guys cut weight so they can run a good 40.

I mean, I hope they acquire a superior kick returner, but until they do so, the pack will have to make do and will probably try whomever they have on the roster.

I’d focus on punt returns. Seems like every team but the pack are just fine with kicking out of the end zone.

But yeah it would be nice to have a weapon back there. Especially if that weapon court double dip into the Ervin role

Woods is a developmental prospect. If they teach him to be a complete TE, they can trade him (or Pitts!).

I'm not a fan of taking a developmental prospect who will be 24 in October
