That would be too good to be true. I'd probably have to become a Badger fan if that happened. His post game press conferences would incredible.

I could see it right now.

They ask if Brett is going to make a QB change after Stave throws 8 interceptions and Brett goes "I just told him to go out there and have some fun, throw some lasers."

How about pulling this guy outta the booth? He was always good at recruiting linemen and runningbacks. :D

"Did I think about subbing him out? Yeah. Uhhh, am I ready to do that yet after 8 ints? Probably not."

Then he'd start crying about some of his teammates.

Also would offer and then rescind scholarships to all sorts of players.

Hire me as the new coach, IMO. I want a college football coaches salary.

Qualifications: Posts on Internet message board about football.

In all seriousness though, I think Chryst will be the #1 target. He has already recruited the players that are there and Wisconsin is clearly a better job than Pitt. Only reason he wouldn't take it is because it's only been one year, but I don't think that will stop him. He could bring back some of the coordinators he stole when he left.

PBGM needs to audit 1 class at UW so he can be a fan of 3,000 college teams instead of 2,999.

At the end of the day Pat Rice from Waunakee is always there as a fall back option. :D

I do agree with him though that Chryst is the top candidate. He was born in Madison, he played football at Madison, he was a hot commodity for head coaching jobs for years, Wisconsin is a better job in a better conference. It just makes sense.

Read on Buckyville that Pitt might have written some pretty stiff leaving penalties in his contract. No idea, though.

I took a Kaplan LSAT prep class on campus one summer, does that count? :D

The more I think on it, the more I don't think we're going to hire a big name coach. I think Barry would rather hire one of his guys and try to influence things from afar. Hiring a guy like Tressel, his former rival, is not a realistic option because I don't think those two egos would mesh well.

My money is on hiring one of our current or former coaches.

Who among the current coaching staff would they consider? Gotta think Canada wouldn't be an option despite the offensive output in the B1G Championship.

Interesting how two now former Wisconsin coaches bail on their teams before a major BCS bowl game.

I think the program is a bit too stable for that to happen, but you never know.

Look at what happened fairly recently to these socalled stable to major programs after winning coaches left and a bad hire was made

Tennessee
Alabama pre-Saban
Michigan
Kansas State after Snyder left and now back up after he returned
Florida after Spurrier left and before Meyer took over
Notre Dame for nearly two decades
Miami
Washington used to be good
UCLA went into the dumpster for quite awhile

That's just off the top of my head and many of those schools have a better tradition of success.

Obviously Alvarez could end up making a good hire to replace Bielema, but every AD of the schools i listed i'm sure thought they made a good hire when picking a new coach/coaches that ended up dragging the program down instead.

I highly doubt it would be current. All of the very good assistant coaches we had left last year or before that.

No doubt, they've sucked for the most part since winning it all. This year has been a trainwreck so far, man the Badgers suck and Eaves runs the program.

I don't follow Badger hockey at all, I barely follow Gopher hockey. But I will say that Lucia was in a similar situation to Eaves about 2 or 3 years ago. A lot of fans wanted him fired, but then he turned it around and got to the Frozen Four last year. I wouldn't be surprised if Eaves turned it around too.
