Could probably trade burrow to a team in the top 10 of the same draft and maybe get an extra pick in later rounds as well. Lawrence is the real deal and has a higher ceiling.
You guys are nuts. If Burrow shows promise over the course of an entire season and looks legit you dont trade that away for a lottery ticket.

This isn't the NBA. There arent any sure fire star players in any NFL draft

He's the closest to a sure thing since Luck.

And?????? Even Luck wasn't the "generational" QB people thought. Good. Not great.

And even if thats close enough for some the list of "sure things" that didn't come close to fitting the bill is significantly longer

If Burrow shows promise and looks legit at the NFL level you don't trade that away for a guy who "might" show a little more promise and "might" look a little more legit at the NFL level

Trevor Lawrence isn't even in the same universe as Andrew Luck was as a prospect. People throw around the "generational prospect" moniker way too liberally. I'm not even sure he's a better prospect than Tua was last season before the injury.

Perhaps it was me simply throwing out the "generational" moniker in response to the idea that Lawrence is some type of "sure fire" guy but damn if people haven't learned yet that there is no such thing as a sure fire guy in an NFL draft

I don't know how you can compare their stats from their freshman and sophomore years and make that statement.

Burrow is going to be 25 next season. Lawrence is going to be 22. That isn't an insignificant age gap, and suggests that Lawrence has more room to grow. I also think Lawrence is more of a run threat. But if Burrow shows promise this year, I think you have to keep him and cash in that first round pick.

That cincinnati roster isn't really that bad and they lost a bunch of close games last year so it's hard to see a scenario where they end up 1st pick in the draft bad if Burrow shows anything.

What could happen would be Burrow looks good for a couple weeks then has a season ending injury and Cincinnati loses out. That would be the tough decision, have to evaluate and go with the guy you like best and asset management be damned.

Cardinals had a similar choice with that Murray pick and took heat for it from some but it sure looks like they made the right choice even though they basically burned a top 10 pick doing it.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Don't know how we can compare college passing stats from even a decade ago to now. FYI, I don't really view Burrows as this generational type QB prospect either, but he arguably put up the greatest statistical season in college football history last year, so....

Jones has shown a few flashes
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Choking in to say I never got the Luck hype. Was a great QB prospect but I feel like one draft dude started saying he was the best Qb prospect he ever saw and a bunch of people just started rolling with it. I always saw a pro bowl level guy but nothing that jumped out.

So OBJ says he'd live in Sheboygan WI (to make a point that he doesn't need a big city) and the casuals are going nuts. Seems like the Pack are linked to OBJ every season.

OBJ wouldn't last a week in Sheboygan. He'd get alchohol poisoning by day 3 here
