I hope Bears don't draft Warren, he'd be perfect for them.

23.
Green Bay Packers - Shemar Stewart - Texas A&M · Edge · Junior

The Packers love front-seven players from the SEC with outstanding traits. Stewart fits the mold.

Stewart is a physical freak at his size, but he also has meh college production. Gives me Van Ness PTSD.

Been keeping tabs on Dorian Strong recently. Played a ton of snaps on an island in press-man

Had some nice reps in the 1v1's today.

Jack Bech is slowly becoming one of my early draft crushes. I'd love to add him as the deep threat in place of injured Watson.

Mike Green and Donovan Ezeiruaku are really standing out in today's Senior Bowl 1v1's. Green will probably go top 15, but Ezeiruaku will likely be available. Fits more of an outside LB in a 3-4 standing up but seems to hold up pretty well setting the edge and not getting bowled over in the run game. Gute and company might err on the side of bigger edges like Jordan Burch or Shemar Stewart, but I wouldn't mind adding a guy with some bend and explosiveness.

Yeah, I didn't know much about Green a month ago but after watching a bunch of game film on him I would love this to be our pick.

Keep the info coming. I haven't followed college ball much in the last few years, but I enjoy draft season. I value the contributions from our forum crew probably more than the national talking heads, as you guys apply knowledgeable Packer context.

Reading through various top 50s and it's wild how varied the rankings and opinions get after the first seven or eight guys.

Darius Alexander (DL) was one of the 12 prospects to make the list of standouts at the senior bowl this week. I've had him on a short list of interior d-linemen that I think would be awesome in Hafley's defense. Strong and twitchy.

I like Azareyeh and Mason Taylor as late round value picks.

Both Oladejo and David Walker had impressive senior bowl practices. Couple of edges not being talked about a lot right now but think we'll be hearing them more as the combine gets near.

Continues to show skills to be a deep shot Watson replacement. Went up strong on a bad throw. Gimme

Senior Bowl Game Notes:

There's a ton of talent on the DL/EDGE this draft and the depth at both positions is deeeeeep. Teams are going to take them early and often. Sa'vion Jones demolished just about everyone standing in his path. Darius Alexander flashed a few moments early on and showed positional versatility along the line. Femi Oladejo and David Walker who both had good practices all week, showed up during the game with multiple sacks. Princely Umanmielen was around the ball a lot and finished some plays off, but he got stone-walled quite a bit and doesn't show as much power as the other edges in the class. Landon Jackson and Aeneas Peebles both upped their stocks today. Feels like a lot of these guys could go early and that's not even taking into account the top guys like Carter, Mykel, Pearce, Nolen, Graham etc. Daniel Jeremiah mentioned he's got about 16-18 DL/EDGE in his top 50, so that seems to track.

Jack Bech remains my favorite to replace Watson as a deep threat. Great hands and attacks the ball at the apex, which I think would benefit to have a guy that goes and gets it when Love chucks it up for Jesus. Made the game winning TD catch.

Jaxson Dart QB3? I could see a few QB needy teams talking themselves into him early. Had a few impressive throws out of play action, looked kind of like Bo Nix out there slingin' it.

Jeffrey Bassa stood out among the LB's. Pretty fluid hips, you can tell he used to be a safety with his change of direction speed. Shermar James from Florida would be a fun off-ball LB next to Cooper. His read and react was quick and he shot through gaps to make a couple TFL's.

Caleb Ransaw made some nice plays including an interception, while playing multiple alignments at DB today. Played some slot and outside corner as well as safety.

If the draft is strong at EDGE in top 50, then maybe we are more likely to use FA for CB and WR. So Davante? Higgins? Jaire staying and everyone making that work? I’m not sure if there are FA CBs that interest the Packers.

I think if the draft ends up being top heavy with DL going early, you could have a few good corners fall into later rounds for the Packers as well. Look no further than Dejean being mocked all the way up into the teens of the 1st only to fall to the second round. I think some really good DB's could fall again this year.

Free agent market in general is kind of meh this year. Hoping some more players spring free due to being cap casualties as the off-season rolls on. At first glance, DJ Reed and maybe Asante Samuel could be possible options at corner, but they feel more like stop gap signings than an impact signing. I'd be surprised if they spend anything big on WR. Just hearing from Gute's end of year presser, adding to that room is always a possibility, but probably looking for more internal growth with the players they do have. Going to be a big year for Wicks and Reed to take another step.

I really like Jayden Higgins and hope we can get him in the 3rd round. Wouldn't hate the 2nd round but there are a lot of good WRs in this draft.
