I turned it off. What happened in the last few comments?

Open up the checkbook, much easier schedule, let's see what happens.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's Wisconsin and Minnesota so no one cares, but if this happened in a game that matters it would have blown up. Absolutely unreal that it wasn't even looked at.

I once again hated taking the ball out of Smith’s hands even if it worked for a stretch

That deep ball to Anthony that led to the TD gave them irrational confidence in Simmons.

What for? What gives anyone any confidence in Smith? They're both terrible.

One is a true freshman and the other will never see the again after this season

There’s a problem with Smith:

The staff does not trust him to throw the football, which is an important thing for a quarterback.

Admittedly, I don’t have a ton of time in life to watch all of the games anymore, but IMO Grimes and Fickell made the best of an insanely bad situation.

Smith can’t throw the ball to succeed at a D1 level at this point. Simmons has an arm but otherwise sucks.

So they ran the gadget/option run offense with Smith but if they needed to throw (2 minute drill, trailing in bad weather) they used Simmons.

Both had low probability of success. It was predictable at times…but they did fine? They beat 2 good teams and didn’t look awful against some juggernauts.

I don’t think Smith will see the field for a long time either. Try to win games. I don’t think a few extra reps will help Smith.

Hopefully neither does. Smith needs to switch to Safety or something. He's a terrible quarterback.

Why do we recruit QBs that can't throw a football?

Moved the coaching hires to the other thread. MD
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I’ve been a Fickell apologist due to an insane run of bad luck, and I think that freshman QB recruits have a high bust rate…

But it is a bit damning what Mettauer and Smith have been. I don’t even expect to “grow our own” QB but these guys aren’t even possibilities.
