Psycho much?

Nah, I didn't need to do the whole namecalling thing so that's my bad. I just snap a little bit when people go into "yeah but we suck" mode right after an awesome game. It must be a miserable way to be a sports fan if that's where your mind defaults after a win like that.

Exactly. Was it a "perfect" win? Of course not. But I'll choose to enjoy it and let others throw frequent pity parties.

I'm watching the game right now - midway through quarter 2 and I honestly can't complain about what I'm seeing. The guys are playing hard. They've been on the wrong end of a couple calls. We had a bad series. And, Dallas is at home and, oh, they're pretty damn talented.

Don't need a full season, but you need more than 1.5 games. I want to know he's not a fumbler, that he knows his pass-protection assignments, see him catch some passes, see him vs a D that game plans for him a bit and has tape on him.

I agree the pure running looks legit and that he looks better than Williams. Not saying he isn't legit. Just that it's too early to know too much.

He could drop the next 3 and I'd still believe he can catch the ball after that reception today.

Am I being too hard on Jones? I feel like I'm being reasonable and everybody else is getting ahead of themselves after only one game. Oh well.

I could have phrased that better- "I want to see more of him and know what he's like in the passing game, which includes, but is not limited to, just his ability to catch the ball- how is he at screens? If we motion him out, can he run a good route? Does he understand the offense well enough to do some of these things or not yet?". Something more like that.

My whole point is that I want to see more before I evaluate him too much. That was a great catch though.

I'm with you. I think he is legit but I want to see some more. I have idiot friends in Facebook saying Monty is done and Jones should be the starter.

Randall is still a knucklehead but at least he made a couple of plays. Martinez' continued development is encouraging. King and Burnett going down is concerning.

Monty's ribs will be sore for awhile. I'd start Jones the next 2 weeks leading into the bye and then see where we're at with the running game.

I feel like if you want to take your time on Jones, I'm totally fine with that. I'm not saying what he's going to be, but I'm totally comfortable at this point saying he looks like Gore so far.

I swear to God I'm going to take my time on it

Was at the game and obviously nice to win a big one on the road.

Packer fans mobbing each other on the last play of the game and I was screaming for Perry to get down. I hope they teach their players the rules of football tomorrow. If Frederick got that to someone that can run it may have gotten bad.

While obviously stupid (I think I called Perry a dumbass as the play was happening) I think it would've been overturned on replay because Elliott's first lateral to Prescott was a forward lateral by about a yard.

Yeah, just saw that a few pages ago. Well that is comforting even though it ended up being inconsequential.

How do you come away from that game complaining? That was vintage. And, I don't know if you're noticing, but the tables are turning: we're pulling these late ones out as of late. Fantastic NFL game. Grateful to be on the good side.

I think the topic that's being overlooked here is we now have a legitimate 1 - 2 punch. I was never sold on Williams. He didn't do a single thing other than pass block. Now, with Jones spelling a healthy Monty (and we can now let Monty get healthy w/ Jones showing an ability to gain yards) or mixing a Monty/Jones backfield...we have a legitimate backfield. To me, that's the real story.

This doesn't make any sense. It was a huge win with seeding implications possibly but they still looked awful where most people agree they are awful. The defense caved when it needed to make a stop. Elliott ran over them in the second half, Ha-ha was badly out of position a lot and they Witten run around free.

The defense was bad and Rodgers bailed them out, which is pretty much the running criticism of they team. The miracle finish doesn't negate all of their flaws.

Need I remind you the game is tied at the end if they convert three extra points.

It's a feel good win but it was sloppy as hell. Winning on the road is always good but they were bad where everyone thinks they're bad.

I think it's fair to be critical when and where criticism is due. Even in acknowledging the thrill of victory, it is simultaneously possible to remain concerned with that's ahead. The ultimate goal is to win a title, after all.

I think the issue is that being negative in the immediate aftermath of game with such a thrilling victory is a bit of a buzz kill. And also lacking in perspective about the greatness that we're witnessing from Rodgers. Moments that will go down in Packer lore. You can choose to save the warts for tomorrow.

Why is he responsible for our buzz?

I'd also argue that he's among the most appreciative of Rodgers' greatness, keenly aware that it won't be around forever.

Not all people handle life the same. Why not be cool with that?

Plus we have no problem excoriating Kidd right after a win for his minutes distributions (again, deserved). Not sure how his criticisms are different.

We're all responsible for the things we say or do and its affect on others. This is a community, after all, not a void to shout into.

Anyway, I'm just saying, take the joys when you can because this team is going to give us a ton of anxiety and a lot to debate about throughout the season.

Fair.

I guess I can kind of relate to his approach though. I am awed by Rodgers' awesomeness and am marveling at these throws today, watching replays. But I'm also shaking my head at the win despite themselves, where the defense was so incompetent, they stumbled into what they needed to in the first place - letting the Cowboys score with enough time left.
