It's amazing how much the media controls peoples' emotions.

-Rodgers makes a post on Instagram, reflecting and giving love to the people in his life.

-Media runs with it. OMG, is this goodbye? Is he staying? Is he retiring???

-People buy into it, and ASSUME he's gonna announce his decision the next day on the Pat McAfee Show.

-Rodgers doesn't announce his decision, and people freak out. WHAT AN ATTENTION WHORE. WHAT A DIVA.

My God, people. R-E-L-A-X.

Who said Rodgers wants $50M a year? Why do people take things that are speculative and treat them as fact, I don’t get it.

I don’t want Rodgers back, I think an old QB in a cold Lambeau has proven to be a bad combination. I’ll take him though if we can’t pull a huge haul in a trade.
Don’t start making crap up to dis on him. There’s plenty of facts you can use. :D

Well no **** someone making 1/3rd of the cap is a bad idea, anyone that pays attention to a sport with a salary cap knows that. There hasn't been a single credible source that said Rodgers wants $50mil, though.

Yeah, if it's not true that Rodgers wants 50mil (or anywhere near that) I will apologize. Personally, I think he wants out of GB and is asking for so much that they are forced to trade him. Maybe I am wrong.

As for Adams, not as much ill-will.....this is probably the biggest payday of his career. I would ask for every penny I could get......but I wouldn't whine when half of my roster was gutted to keep me.

I'm for blaming the media as much as anyone but you don't get to blame that (at least on this board) when that tweet was posted here and the general consensus was it was him saying "bye" without literally any prodding from the media.

I get it. Rodgers can do no wrong to some people. It's always someone else's fault.

Bakhtiari just converted 11 mil of his salary into a bonus.

Looks like they're gonna mortgage the future to give it one last go.....hopefully it works out.

One big question if they're going to kick the can down the road with these salary cap moves: will that result in a better roster than the one that didn't get the job done the last two years? Strictly thinking on another SB run. Of course it should be a very good lineup. But good enough?

Our talent has been championship caliber, our execution has not. And our special teams should be fine with a competent coach and some upgrades of our scrubs.

Also, even if we trade Rodgers and let Adams go we'd still have to be making these moves to get under the cap by 3/16

If you give Jaire the same deal as Marshon Latimore last off-season (5 years 97 mil) you can get his cap number down to $5 mil this year.

That and cutting Cobb / Zadarius gets you under the cap. From there if Rodgers wants to play with Davante it's easy - just has to come out of his comp.

Wish I knew what the market was for some of our other free agents right now so we could speculate but hard to tell. I would tend to favor cutting Preston Smith if it means we can keep two or 3 of Devondre, MVS, Lazard, or Tonyan.

I don't see any of the moves as a sign of them going all in for another year, it's simply getting to a point where they can afford to franchise Adams. He won't be back on that tag, but it at least gives them leverage if Adams wants to come back, or more importantly, he can be traded.

Wait do role playing WRs actually get offers like that? I'd be shocked if Lazard or MVS actually got anywhere near those numbers. Oh and if Campbell only costs 6 mil you sign that deal asap.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I could see a team valuing MVS with his speed and his deep threat ability but 9 million seems excessive. No way Lazard sniffs 8 mill though and I'd be shocked if Tonyan sees 75% that number coming off injury

Yep, MVS could get a 2/$15 offer. Raiders stand out as a team that likes to take fliers on speed guys with bad hands.

Lazard is restricted, can’t see any interest in him.

Bob is coming off the ACL, don’t see why anyone would be interested in him either. Other teams GM’s are aware that he’s never broken a tackle while healthy, sure isn’t going to change now. Maybe a low 2/$4 offer.
