Even if whoever they go with ends up being crappy, at least they're trying something different. That's good enough for me (for now... I reserve the right to hate the kicker during the season).

I just hope this means a brand new kicker cause Joseph is even worse than Carlson

I don't think anyone has ever drafted a developmental kicker and succeeded. The Brewers should spin off a kicking lab and sell it to NFL teams.

Hopefully they have another kicker in mind, because Joseph doesn't inspire much confidence either. Saw Narveson's name brought up a few times as a possible option, so maybe that pans out.

I was hoping Caleb Jones would become a good player for us

Yes simply because he is so comically big it's fun to see him on the field.

Hope they learned their lesson about drafting kickers who weren't even any good in college to begin with.

If Royce Newman survives another cutdown day he's for sure got some dirt on someone important.

Yeah we better not be going with Joseph, he's worse than Anders.

Thank god. He already arguably cost us a trip to an NFC Championship game, and we're not in a position to let a crap kicker "work himself out of it" for the 2nd season in a row. Another L for Bisaccia and I have to wonder how long dude keeps his job if the special teams suck once again this year.

Joseph has at least made some clutch kicks, including multiple +50yd game winners. I would have zero confidence in Carlson in those scenarios.

1. Here we are, yet again, finding out that the coach of special teams actually barely moves the needle.

2. Given that there are only 10-15 legitimately great kickers on this planet, I'm fine if they think something else is better, but we were stuck with Carlson last year once the season got near the end and we're either going to pick up a kicker that has had to "work stuff out" before or already sucks. I'm fine trying to see if we can luck into the a legitimate top kicker if they didn't think Carlson was, though.

Joseph also got to kick in domes more than any Packer kicker will. I don't see that he's a better option than Carlson. Hale is the developmental guy for next year. At this point, I'm open to trying door #4

Maybe it's just me, but if the unit that you're being paid Top-5 assistant money in the league to coach up just sucks year after year, then ultimately the only logical conclusion is that you're not worth the money you're being paid. Especially considering Carlson was the guy Bissacia lobbied for.

I'm just here to celebrate the team moving on from Carlson. Was listening to Homer last night, as he noted that in the final 12 games last year, Carlson missed at least one FG/PAT in 10 of them.

You just couldn't trust the guy, and I'm guessing the players on the field couldn't either.
