If players ever got back to tackling instead of launching themselves like missiles it would probably help reduce the amount of injuries.

They need helmets that restrict all head, neck movement.

I think the problem is players think they're more protected than they actually are so they're totally reckless with their tackling. You don't see stuff like this in rugby or Aussie Rules Football where it still involves physical play and tackling but no helmets are used.

Does it normally take this long? Seems like they are being really cautious.

There's basically no difference between a 7 or 8 point lead, it's still a one possession game. Getting it up to 9 makes it a two possession game and there's no disadvantage because if you don't make it you're still up by a TD and extra point.
Well, but a 8-point game forces the other team to score a TD and try a 2-point conversion to tie it, I'd say it's better than a TD + extra point.
PS: I'm not a specialist, just a Packers long time fan trying to better learn the game.
2 pt conversions are converted about 60%, probably higher with someone like Rodgers, despite the earlier incompetence at the goal line. XP's are only converted at like 90%. Tying the game in a 9 pt deficit in one possession is 0%. Like I said before it's just simply the reward is far greater than the risk. It may have been a bit early, but imagine a 9 pt lead for the Eagles right now.
I thought that 2pt conversions were lower, kind of 30%. Thanks for the information.
After this, I think teams should try 2pt conversion more, because out of 10 tries, they will make 12 points instead of 9.

Coming in shoulder/helmet first into a tackle, most likely to blow a guy up, is such a dumb way to tackle from all points.

I can't hate Joe Buck too much after hearing his pot brownie story.

Even if we convert for 2, I have zero faith in our D to keep them out of FG range.

Why the Eagles playing so out of control? Helmet-to-helmet on our guys, helmet-to-helmet on their own guys, avoidable face masks. Guys who play like that need to be gotten under control. Like that guy Brandon Merriweather, I remember that one game where he gave Eddie Lacy a concussion with his helmet-to-helmet tackling and then gave himself one too.

I was actually just commenting to my wife in the first quarter that less padding may actually lead to fewer serious injuries.
