Looks like the Packers are doing the player a solid as well. Seems Perry can pass a physical, so it wouldn't look great to hold him hostage until June.

He would have been free today either way. The league let's teams 'designate June 1' to prevent guys from being held hostage for cap reasons.

The pack did this simply because they wanted all the hit this year and none next offseason. It's the same total amount either way.

Z Smith's deal isnt up yet. Assuming it'll look alot like Preston's. The Amos deal continues to look like a steal. Even less of a fan of the Turner deal now.

Outside Amos these all look like two year deals and then eating cap hits to get out of them. Hopefully they are able to be productive enough to make those cap hits in 2 years worth it

Also it looks like we still have around 17 mill in cap room. Should be enough for Breeland/Wilkerson on one year deals and draft picks

How bout getting rogers some help to besides breeland n wilks how bout tate as a slot receiver.Browns add beckman to go with landry ...we have adams then squat we need another vet receiver or do we fans want the packers going into tbe season with no cobb and nothing opposite adams

Tate would be great, but he will get a solid contract. I think the Packers end up signing a pretty low key WR, like maybe a Tyrell Williams. A burner who can make plays would be a nice get, IMO. Hoping we resign Breeland and Wilkerson though

It will be interesting to see if we prioritize getting more weapons for Rodgers and o-line or if we stay true to BPA whether that's on offense or defense. We still have holes, and I think we should look at this as more of a two-year situation rather than fixing everything in one off-season and contending in 2019. Not saying we can't, just that it might take two years instead of one, which I'm okay with.

Considering the level of movement of some pretty good talent across the league in the last couple of days, and how many percieved holes got filled (or created) in teams rosters; you can probably chuck out most of the Mocks to this point - no surprise there anyway. I still think the big driver's going to be a potential run on QB's before the #12 pick. If that happens, then the Packers really have some opportunities either to nab a player they really want, or to trade back for more picks.

Hopefully, the Packers aren't picking as low as #12 for many years, so they'd better make great use of this opportunity.

Nailed it -

In that long OFFsEASON Post I made for Roster Building I called for signing - Preston and Za'darius Smith and Andre Amos! I have been consistent on the Smith's but was willing to let Amos get away IF we didn't have the dollars.

I'd say nailing the 3 primary FA signings almost a month prior is as hard to do as call the top 3 picks in Pack's draft a month beforre

Amos is most effective near the LOS - Pack needs deep Safety so either they will put Jackson there, draft Adderly or sign someone like Tre Boston
