We had Billy Turner in there to stabilize things somewhat until he got hurt late in the season.

I'm going to go glass half full and say the o-line is fine, it's just that our front seven is/will be dominant.

Practice is a lot different than an actual game where defenders are only getting 25-40 seconds rest between each play. Not concerned about it.

Ron Swanson wrote:I don't think I've ever been as quick to be out on a guy's NFL prospects as I was with Amari last season, at least amongst guys that were Day 2 picks. Second he stepped on the field it was clear as day he didn't have NFL caliber speed/athleticism, and at his size, that's a death sentence. Really don't see any point in keeping him around.

His size/speed aren't the problem. Cobb had a decent career with even worse specs (slower and much thinner) and it's not because his neck was 1 inch longer.

But otherwise I agree. He doesn't look like he belongs out there. Given how much we hear "Amari ran the wrong route", maybe his head's just not in the game and/or it's not slowing down for him like it did for Cobb. Who's to say why

Decent 53 by Matt Schneidman

https://theathletic.com/3529632/2022/08/23/packers-roster-projection-3

Arod/Love

Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Patrick Taylor(good pass pro and special teams)

Allen Lazard, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, Amari Rodgers, Juwann Winfree

Robert Tonyan, Marcedes Lewis, Josiah Deguara, Tyler Davis

David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Josh Myers, Zach Tom, Yosh Nijman, Jon Runyan Jr., Royce Newman, Jake Hanson, Sean Rhyan

Kenny Clark, Jarran Reed, Dean Lowry, T.J. Slaton, Devonte Wyatt

Rashan Gary, Preston Smith, Jonathan Garvin, Kingsley Enagbare, Kobe Jones

De’Vondre Campbell, Quay Walker, Isaiah McDuffie, Krys Barnes

Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, Rasul Douglas, Shemar Jean-Charles, Keisean Nixon, Rico Gafford

Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage Jr., Vernon Scott, Shawn Davis, Dallin Leavitt

Kobe Jones ahead of Tipa is a tiny bit of surprise but the thinking was that Kobe ran with the ones ahead of everyone else when Gary sat in practice against the Saints. It's come down to the wire for that group. Heflin being cut is also a little bit surprising but that group is deep and he probably makes it to the practice squad.

^^^Probably pretty close.

Personally, I'm with those folks who would cut bait on Amari. Go with Toure.

Not crazy about Gafford either, but I guess they see potential there.

Yeah with Gafford I think he said something to the effect that there wasn't anyone really worthy of that spot but he's the best athlete or something.

Same with Toure but he should make the practice squad at least.

With the COVID practice squad rules staying in place it makes the back of the roster harder to predict because as MLF alluded to they aren't as limited by position group. Those last couple spots should be for guys you don't think will clear waivers. Like I could see them only keep two RBs and then put two more on the PS.

Safety was left out.
Amos, Savage, Davis, Abernathy. Scott injury stashed.
Heflin added. Only 4 safeties.
Last OLB and CB still up for grabs.
OLB Jones, Hamilton, Tipa.
CB Thomas, Gafford.

Goodson over Taylor.
Toure over Rodgers.
No T. Davis. Add Caleb Jones.

So that's that. Another season opener we get to bitch about if they come out flat.

Welp. Must've been a pretty bad injury.

Great...a bitchy old qb who complains incessantly about timing and route issues with all his new recievers who also won't be getting any game reps until it actually matters again. Week one should be fun

At least he's going against the best defense in league history every day in practice. :D

I'll believe Bakh is ready to play when I see it - and even then, it'll take a few weeks of consistent play to believe he won't have another setback.

Otherwise, I don't have a problem with sitting the starters. Frankly, a series or two of game action isn't going to make a big difference for guys like Rodgers and I'd rather not unnecessarily expose them to injury.

I feel like there's more value to figuring out who will make the cut on the 53.

I think the joint practice was the game for Rodgers and some other starters. I think they must feel like they have more safety controls in the joint practice vs a live game

Special teams are the wildcard. They have been mostly underperforming in the 2 preseason games. But I believe some starters may play ST, which they haven't done so far on PS.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
