So normally I don't follow every cut player and say 'what about this guy'...but anyone who watches the Chief care to comment on if Eric Berry has two years left in the tank? I remember really liking him, but not sure how he came back from the achilles injury a year or two ago

There was reports out earlier that all of our contracts were set up to not hit in the first year and that we were sitting at 17M in cap space (this is aside from rookie cap holds) before the 2M went to Geronimo.

Doesn't $10 million and change need to be reserved for the draft picks?

Spotrac has 22, but remember half of that goes to rookies and you always want a couple left over just in case something comes up. I would like Wilkerson back, he looked good before his injury.

If they sign anyone else it'll have to come at the expense of cutting a player at this point. If 17 is accurate you're not going to want to use every penny.

Depending on how much he'll cost cutting Tramon and signing Berry looks appealing but I'm not sure with Berrys injury history

Clay, Breeland, Wilkerson back forsure, Ryan Id like to give him another shot but wouldnt be upset if he left. The rest of that list shouldnt even be in the league.

Honestly surprised they brought him back after he went on his mini media tour.

He didn't say anything that wasn't already known. Marcedes Lewis makes a ton more sense in this offense than our old offense.

Still need around 5 mil for rookies. That and geronimo would leave them with 10 mil for clay breeland Wilkerson

Jim Owczarski - MJS update on unsigned Packer FA''s
https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2019/03/13/packers-free-agency-green-bay-retains-allison-cut-ties-brice/3152438002/

Part of that money is free because by the start of the league year at 3 p.m., the club elected not to tender a contract offer to restricted free agent safety Kentrell Brice, PackersNews.com confirmed. The Packers would have likely offered the low tender of $2.025 million to Brice but elected to let him test the free-agent market.

Perhaps the most surprising Packers free agent to not receive a deal by the start of the new league year was cornerback Bashaud Breeland. Just a year ago he signed a $24 million contract with Carolina ($11 guaranteed), but a freak foot injury caused him to fail his physical and voided the deal.

He signed a one-year, minimum-salary contract with the Packers on Sept. 26. Breeland played seven games, starting five, and finished second on the team with two interceptions and scored a touchdown. He also stepped in to return kicks.

At 27 years old and with 67 career games and 10 interceptions, Breeland is one of the more accomplished younger corners left on the unrestricted market. Only Philadelphia free-agent corner Ronald Darby (25 years old, 67 games, 10 INT) is younger with a similar track record, and he is coming off a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Edge rusher Clay Matthews and wide receiver Randall Cobb have also yet to receive much public interest early in free agency. PackersNews.com reported that Matthews’ representatives and the Packers have discussed a potential reunion prior, and a league source indicated the team was ready to move on from Cobb at the outset of free agency. But as the league year turns over and both players remain on the market, Gutekunst could decide that either (or both) remain good fits for the club in 2019.

Again, wrong. I said aside from rookie cap holds (which is much closer to 10M dollars with our draft capital).

Oh, absolutely. But usually Murphy and co keep things like that in-house and if you're a squeaky wheel, you get tossed. I'm okay with him coming back though as I like his blocking in this scheme.
