The Packers are once again the youngest team in the NFL, by a long shot

What always strikes me with these lists is how short of careers the vast majority of these dudes have. It's a Not For Long league.

Yup. Both Dillon and Deguara were drafted two to three rounds too early. If they'd been picked later, they probably are viewed more kindly.

Runyan was serviceable and he might still be on the Giants roster today

As has been noted a few times here and elsewhere, the Love pick makes Gute's legacy

The rest....

Imagine if we drafted Shenault or Claypool over Love like some wanted

If you want some fun reading, here's the Grade the Draft thread. Whole bunch of Ds and Fs.

I'm proud of my take:

Hate to say it but to me it all hinges on Love. If he's a ten year starter then we forget about the rest of the class, which to me looks like sh*t.

Always good to be reminded of how much of a **** moron Michael Rodney is lol.

I feel like they should have kept DuBose, King, and Johnson, Jr. Tyler Davis, maybe a DL, and Telfort probably didn't need to be kept. Johnson, Jr. is the most surprising cut to me. I know we added four safeties, but I still thought he had potential. I thought they would like to look at King for at least a year.

Coach of the year betting odds

Lafleur, Matt 10-1
Eberflus, Matt 11-1
Harbaugh, Jim 11-1
Morris, Raheem 12-1
Ryans, DeMeco 14-1
Macdonald, Mike 16-1
Steichen, Shane 18-1
Gannon, Jonathan 18-1
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Award typically goes to a coach of a team that's surprisingly good. People already assume GB will be good so MLF is a bad bet at those odds.

Yea Green Bay would probably have to be the 1 seed in the NFC for MLF to be in the conversation this season imo

Seems that a lot of moves are very "win now" oriented, including the rumor that Clifford will be brought back up over Pratt until Willis learns the playbook. I don't really like that philosophy for such a young team. Last year's playoffs were fun, but it's not necessarily replicable and not enough to justify low-upside roster moves for immediate benefit IMO. Like many of you, I'm specifically talking about guys like Pratt, King, Dubose, and Johnson Jr. (and conversely, some of the guys who got those roster spots instead), but I do realize that we're all probably over-analyzing those moves a little because it's the story of the day.

I'm kind of with you on this, but Willis is somewhat of an "upside" move - and while it's possible Pratt has higher upside than Clifford, it's your 3rd QB and there will be another Pratt in next year's draft or cut by some team.

Not much difference between guys who were kept vs. guys who were cut so I'll defer to the staff who sees them practice every day. But they're wrong sometimes obviously. And the bubble guys who were kept won't all be on the 53 in 9 days.

I have to disagree, they are good and should be in win now mode. I think it's perfectly reasonable to keep a guy who can help on special teams this year over a higher upside fringe roster guy who very likely never pans out anyway.

Guess I got my answer. Packers put in a claim for Narveson.

Getting 3 guys claimed seems like really a lot. Are we super deep or did we cut the wrong dudes?

I guess I don't have much of a problem with anyone the team released. Would have liked to have kept Pratt, but if they like Willis then I trust the organization. No real issue with cutting Johnson. Always thought he was just a guy and they drafted two billion safeties. Same with King. He hasn't stood out in any way, though I'd like to see him on the practice squad.

I'm not surprised Johnson Jr. got claimed. That's the one that feels like a clear error on our end. Dubose is slightly surprising but good for him if he gets a real opportunity that probably wasn't happening here. Newman I absolutely cannot believe got claimed
