Wisconsin/Ohio State games will be interesting since I'm guessing Andersen and Urban are good friends.

Multiple sources confirming it is Andersen. He is likely to bring his entire Utah State coaching staff.

Love the hire if true.

Don't they run more of a spread?

Sounds like a good hire if it is true.

Not entirely sure. I know they've produced good running backs since he's been there in Robert Turbin, Michael Smith and Kerwynn Williams.

I know minimal about college football compared to most of you, but I don't like the feel of this. Reminds me of when we hired Don Morton and his veer offense out of Tulsa. Hiring the guy from a small school who has had success just recently at a low level school. This guy doesn't appear to have a lot of experience and he is 48, which isn't that old, but usually prodigy type guys are killing it by age 40.

Then the fact according to that quote above, he signed an extension through 2018 earlier and now he's out a couple weeks (?) later? Yeah I know that's how the business works, but it seems funny.

Sounds to me like Barry couldn't attract bigger names because they didn't want to have to deal with Barry. I'm not thrilled with this move.

I recall watching Kerwynn in a bowl game last year now.

We just played Utah State this year and you're not sure if they run the spread? They do FWIW. :)

Yep, that's him. Heck of a football player, despite the hideous hair-don't.

He has pretty much just as much experience as Bielema when he was handed the role, and for everyone's complaining, Bielema was successful. He was a D-Coordinator at Utah in 2 BCS games under Urban Meyer and turned around a putrid D-1 team. I think that would be as much or more experience than Bielema if you ask me.

@Tjonessltrib
Gary's the best recruiter I've ever seen...recruiting to Logan has been historically impossible..Andersen did it

First, I'm not a Badger fan. Second, I was incredibly inebriated at the Stadium Bar. My friends and I had to look online to see who won. 8-)

Yeah, I didn't see that game either. I had watched them play once the year before, but couldn't fully remember.

Turbin was one of my favorite RB's coming out of last year's draft though. The Hulk is awesome.

So if he tries to convert Wisconsin to a spread team, will you guys be in favor of this? I don't think I'd be comfortable with that if I was a Badger fan, but then again the last spread team I cheered for had Tim Brewster at the helm.

If the offense works, I don't care what it is. I'm sure Barry went over this in the interview and was confident enough in his answers to hire him.

Not sure what to take out of that exactly. Looks like he couldn't stop Cyborg Gazelle, though. I have a feeling I watched that game late at night. Little did I know I would be watching a stud NFL QB and a Packers potential rotational WR in 2013 facing off at QB.

Don't really take much out of 2009 since it was his first year and they were awful before that. It's encouraging that they only lost by 7 in Oklahoma his second year. They should've beat Auburn. They were up by 10 with about 2 minutes left. If they would've recovered the onside kick they would've won.

They also missed a 37 yarder as time expired against Wisconsin which would've won the game.
