I'm just confused, if we were going to give that much to an offensive guard why not Becton?

I'll trust Gutey. I loved his moves last year immediately with Jacobs and X. This one I'm scratching my head, but hopefully it works out.

I said as much in the draft thread when I voiced opposition to drafting an IOL only guy in the first two days. They have to get the five best guys on the field no matter what, and if that means moving Tom inside then they need to do it.

No guarantee except for the signing bonus, which makes a lot of sense. Still, surprised they didn't just target an IOL in the draft (Day 3, to be sure).

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. Becton would not have agreed to that type of a deal. Good signing assuming the signing bonus is a decent number.

This just seems like a "oh **** we got absolutely slaughtered by the Eagles pass rush (so did everyone else) so let's just pay whoever the top guard is" kind of move. Not a fan but whatever I guess. Not my money and you probably still trust this organization when it comes to building an offensive line.

Worth noting he seems to be much better as a run blocker than a pass blocker.

This is the type of deal you'd want to avoid and quite frankly mock rivals for doing

Don't know much about Hobbs. From his wiki - Hobbs received an overall grade of 61.4 from Pro Football Focus in 2024, which ranked 110th amongst 223 cornerbacks.

These two moves are just depressing.

Just do nothing if this was all that was left. Nothing is an option

9.62 RAS and only 25-years old. Can he play outside though?
