Have a hunch that we might see Amari Rodgers in the backfield at times this year

He'll be running some jet sweeps, so not exactly in the backfield at the snap.

Last week's game against KC would say otherwise - he lined up in the backfield a few times.

TJ Slaton already is there to play snaps at NT when Clark isn't. Not sure why we need a third NT and besides that, Ford didn't exactly shine in preseason.

They seemed to value their 7th round picks this year, although getting picked in the 7th round is usually no guarantee to make the team.

I think it's because the roster is very heavy with guys making a lot of $$$. You need guys on 3/4 year deals who are earning nothing to help keep that together, and so if they're showing any promise at all they're gonna get the shot over street free agents on 1 year deals all day

A little surprised by this considering how many WRs they have on the 53.

Cool. Was noted when he was cut that he's a standout on ST.

The fact that I'm watching ST gunner highlights of a guy we just signed is a testament to how pathetic our own have been on ST. 30+ years of watching this stuff, and I've never even given it a second thought.

No packer claims and summers was the only former packer claimed.

That list speaks volumes for just how bad that Bears roster is

But never forget that everybody creamed their pants when they traded their entire future away for Mack.

I haven't seen anything on Winfree on the practice squad so maybe he decided to look for a fresh start elsewhere. Given the youth and inexperience of Doubs, Watson, and Toure combined with Watkins not being known for staying healthy it does make sense to have a veteran body available.

Glad Caleb Jones made it through waivers. Like him as a prospect.

Looks like we nabbed almost every single player we were hoping to for the PS, including the kicker who could very possibly be our starter next year. Well played.

Also, if I was a WR that missed out on the roster I would absolutely be exhausting other options before coming back to the Packers, that is going to be a tough unit to crack this season.

From Packers.com - the current full list of PS guys + Ford - as of Weds PM:

The Green Bay Packers have signed S Rudy Ford and released S Micah Abernathy, and signed the following players to the practice squad: QB Danny Etling, WR Travis Fulgham (full-gum), CB Rico Gafford, RB Tyler Goodson, LB La'Darius Hamilton, DL Jack Heflin, T Caleb Jones, LB Kobe Jones, DL Chris Slayton, RB Patrick Taylor, CB Kiondre Thomas (kee-ON-dray) and LB Ray Wilborn. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Wednesday.

I know I know, playoff failures should curb my enthusiasm but I'm pretty damn excite. Sucks to lose Adams but with his money we brought back Douglas and Campbell. We seem to have had a very good draft (6 months from now I may have a different opinion). Our PS has some real talent should we need to dip into it due to injuries. Can't wait for week 1.

I dunno. We look really strong with our starting 22. (Oustide of WR since it's so untested). But I wouldn't call this team deep by any stretch. An NFL season is war of attrition and I'm not sold on them having the reserves.

Don't get me wrong they'll sleep walk to 12 wins but I'm not sure they have the horses in reserve for the POs

I'm not sure any team is deep enough to withstand a lot of injuries.
