3 quality boundary CB's seems like an unnecessary luxury given our cap situation.

Yeah, this seems pretty much self-apparent to me. They have to gamble on better luck with injuries this year. If they hedge too much against injuries, they will be very likely to have huge holes in other areas, whereas if they gamble on health, at least there's a chance they'll have a balanced, complete roster.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

Yeah, Douglas is gone and we still should be fine at DB assuming they can get some production from Sullivan, Jean-Charles, or a round 3/4 pick. Campbell is definitely the defensive priority. I am guessing they go edge/DL high in this draft.

Can't see any scenario where all of MVS, Turner, Tonyan, Amos, Douglas, Zadarius, and Lowry aren't cap casualties. ILB is the cheapest market value position on defense, but I'm not as confident as a lot of people that we can afford Campbell. He'll have plenty of suitors and all it takes is one to outbid you.

Best case scenario....?

- Jaire extension lowering his cap hit
- rescind the tag on Davante and backload the **** out of his new deal
- RFA tender Lazard and Nijman
- re-sign Campbell for less than market value
- restructure Crosby freeing up some minor $$$

Don't like that we'll probably have to shift away from our draft strategy and look for immediate contributors over upside, but it is what it is. There's gonna be a bunch of holes on this roster.

I think Amos and Preston are both restructured and they will keep Tonyan cheap due to the ACL, but losing anyone else really wouldn't surrpise me. I think they are going to make Campbell a priority and try to fill the other holes via the draft.

If GB trades Love, I hope they get more (much more) from the Colts than WAS's pick #42.

I'd still rather keep Love. Depends on AR's contract structure, of course, but would prefer to have Love on our team for the next 2 years, even as a backup, and for sure as a starter in his 5th year option year if AR's not here then.

Trade Love to the Colts for a 2022 2nd. That would be awesome.

Bring Boyle back on a 1 year or pick up some dude later in the draft.

That 5th year option will end up somewhere around $20mil and they have to decide on it next off-season. Can't see how they could pick that up with Rodgers on the roster. It's best to trade him now if they get a reasonable return.

The Crosby situation will be interesting. He missed kicks but from what we hear it may have had a lot to do with snap/hold. Maybe.

He'll be 38 in September. Entering the last year of his deal and a $4.735 cap hit. An extension could lower that. I doubt they just cut him. If they do they save about $2.4 million off the cap. But they signed Eberle to at least compete for the job. You don't want to extend Crosby if you are giving Eberle a legit shot.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I would ship him out for #42 so fast his head would spin.

I would say there is a zero percent chance they ever get a better offer than #42 for Love. He was taken #26 himself on a trade up, has shown almost nothing, and is going to be on his second contract soon. His trade value declines again the second the draft is over.

This. 42 is an absolute steal

Is Love better than any of the available round 1 QBs? Probably.

How much is MVS expected to sign for? They don't have any other speedster on the roster who can open up the field like him. Getting him back on a prove it contract and signing Campbell is about the best I'm hoping for considering the cap situation.

Idk. Wouldn’t WAS rather have Love than Wentz at this point for their franchise? They swapped seconds and added two thirds and they’re taking on the contract. I have to think they at least called GB about Love? And if so, maybe the price was higher than a second?

Or maybe they’re set on drafting a QB in round 1 and want a vet to play 1-2 years.

Idk, I just still think Love is worth a first rounder. I’d rather have Love than any of this years draft QBs. And I see it as Love has only gotten better in two years in the league practicing behind AR.

Not trading love for anything short of a first rounder or unless it’s part of a massive trade up like we did with Hasselbeck back in the day.

Not even joking when I say I think he’s QB1 in this draft if you’re talking upside. Tons of JAGs are gonna be taken in the first round simply because QB is so important.

I hope they do trade Love - for his own sake. There's a substantial chunk of the fan base who has already written him off as a bust (maybe he is, I dunno), or will be overly critical of every mistake made, or read missed. Give the kid a chance to make or break his career on his own merit. He won't see game time here, unless disaster strikes

So we should trade Love and a hall of fame guard for an above-average tight end?

Kidding.....I would take a 2nd at this point.
