Honestly, I don't hate it if true. I was between him and Babich as rising stars to take a chance on. You might lose them to HC gigs in a few years if they keep on their trajectory, but who cares, they'd probably implement some fun/progressive schemes.

I mean that's kinda the hope any time you hire a new coordinator isn't it?

Sure, but how many people had HC aspirations for Joe Barry when we hired him as coordinator?

It’s even more so the hope when you get high draft picks for them being non-white rising coaches. 49ers been taking full advantage of that rule and we’d be wise to do the same.

Well, he came for an interview, right? And he already lived in GB, so maybe he just stayed some extra days to meet old friends and spend the weekend.

If it is Parker, one thing that's very interesting is he's worked under a very diverse set of defensive schemes. He worked under Fangio, Pettine, and Vance Joseph who all run very different schemes

Christian Parker potentially looking like the guy for DC:

He does sound very bright from the few sound bites that are floating around. I’m down with it.

Other than the packs D potentially being cursed it seems like it would be a very desirable job. Good team, offensive head coach so plenty of autonomy, good draft capital likely to be spent on D, a team that gets publicity so you get possible head coach ops, and it's been bad so long even just being like average would be considered a huge win.

I've seen several very recent comments by Aaron Jones that sound as though he expects to be a Packer next season.

Aaron just being the upbeat leader he is, or some contract work being discussed?

I think he really believes he'll be back. Perhaps his agent has already been talking to the team.

He restructured the last 2 years of his 4 year deal last year and took a pay cut. But now everything is loaded into the final year. $17.4 million cap hit or a $12.3 million dead cap hit. My guess is they'll add 2 more years at a reasonable price. He turns 30 during next season. Find another dependable back to split the load and hope Jones is ready to go down the stretch and playoffs like this year.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

A really good position by position breakdown of where the Packers are at entering the offseason

Yup - interesting stuff across the board.

Ingall's lengthy segment on Bahk's contract shows that virtually all of the Packers options are bad.... The only semi-good option is if Bakh miraculously returns to top performing health and is enthusiastic about playing in GB. Otherwise, Ingall's implies the best-of-the-bad options may be to outright cut Bakh by Mar 13. Big financial impact, but the most secured risk. (A high-colonic of sorts for the Cap) The other options have higher risk and still big financial impact.

I also got the impression that Ingall's is downplaying the injury grievance card, if the Pack cuts him. Bakh would need to pass a Packer physical to continue in GB, or another team's physical if he wants to go elsewhere. He may well not pass either.

I don't really see any reason they wouldn't simply cut Bak before March. Hell either go sign someplace else or medically retire and file an injury grievance. But if he's going the second route it's going to hit them regardless of they cut him or not. Zero reason to actually have him on the roster because there's zero chance the knee is trustworthy even if he gets a doc to clear him.

Based on that article above I don't see any way Bak is still on the team after March 13.

I've heard some people say he's almost guaranteed to be gone, and I've heard some people think there's a better than 50/50 shot he restructures and stays. I really have no clue at this point. I was under the impression that none of the deadline dates really matter. It's basically just the same, huge dead-cap hit no matter when we waive him. Not saying the article is wrong, but I've all heard all sorts of conflicting info on it.

Call me biased, but I'm honestly fine with picking anyone from the Baltimore defense tree. Those guys just know how to coach linebackers.
