Re: ATL - Metcalf to Steelers/Darnold & Kupp to Seahawks
Lots of old, washed up receivers still out there:
Amari Cooper
Stefon Diggs
Tyler Lockett
Keenan Allan
Brandin Cooks
Amari Cooper was great in 2023 then fell off. He’ll be 31 this year. If his drop off was truly due to injuries and he’s healthy again he might have something left. Obviously he’s not a deep threat though.
Diggs is a diva and coming off a torn ACL.
Lockett is too small for our offense.
Keenan Allan had your typical washed veteran WR season last year with the Bears. Expect the same from Cooper Kupp this year with Seattle. Not a surprise that the Bears don’t want him back.
Brandin Cooks is a min deal guy at this point.

I wouldn't mind bringing in a reasonably priced vet just to have that type of presence in the group. Allen is the most attractive of the bunch. He did decent with rookie Caleb throwing to him last year and had 1,200 yards the year prior. He could definitely drop off a cliff, which is why I woudn't give him a lengthy deal.

Gotta be a 2026, right? They only have 3 picks this year as it is.

Yeah, forgot about their comp. I'm guessing they trade out of the 1st. Given the hit rate for draft picks, you are just asking for a serious lack of depth by taking only 2 guys in the first 4 rounds, and 4 overall. Especially when you factor in the busts like Lewis Cine their GM has had.

Well, if they are bad at drafting, it makes sense to trade and/or sign most of your players, including depth.
Also, considering that they will have lots of spots to fill, undrafted players would be more willing to sign there.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

You can't spend that much at WR.

I agree these WR contracts are over the topMags FTW wrote:You can't spend that much at WR.
Chases price was set when Jefferson signed his deal.
The bigger issue is what they're paying Higgens and Chase combined. That's **** insane

With Burrow at 55 per, Chase at 40 per and Higgen at 28 per Cincy has to be aware teams know they aren't gonna be able to keep Hendrickson

Cincinatti is a mess. That defense stinks and now you have what, 130m tied up in 3 offensive players? Lol that’s absolutely insane. Trying to win 50-49 every game is certainly a strategy. Yikes. I wonder if Cinci fans are excited or completely terrified or both? Lol

That's a lot of monies for three players, 2 of which playing the same position.

Agreed and if it were like Burrow/Chase/Justin Jefferson it might make sense. I have always thought Higgins is overrated and just put in the perfect position. I am very happy we did not trade a pick to pay him that contract because he is not a #1 WR.

I have questions about Hendrickson as a 30+ year old guy, but he could really boost our pass rush. But reports now are that the Bengals are working on a contract extension for him after they let him seek a trade for a week. Maybe other teams weren't blowing him away with their own contract extension offers.

That's fine. Wasn't really that high on him to begin with. Take it to the draft. DL/EDGE and a pass catcher early and go from there.
