We'll definitely be drafting WR next year.

Watson was a second rounder. No 5th year option. He's also entering his last year. Melton too.

All three guys are going to be looking for extensions. Before Doubs had his suspension I would have thought he'd be the guy most likely to be back on a long term deal. All around solid WR but not special enough to break the bank in free agency. But now I'm not sure any of them get extended.

They absolutely need to reload in the draft.

Why would we extend any receiver after 3 years? That's just dumb. They aren't close to being worth it. Watson can't stay healthy, Doubs can't get open, Wicks can't catch a cold. Reed maybe after next season but that's almost 2 years and 29 games away.

Because that's when good non-first round picks get extended.

He’s basically the only one out of our group that can consistently do it, like he comes down with that sideline throw at the end that Wicks wasnt able to get.

Reed has been a surprise in that area but he’s still on the smaller side and Watson is soft on those.
Yeah they'd get like a 5th for Romeo.

If they could have gotten a 2nd I think he'd be on another team right now.

But none of them are good, that's the point.
Don't confuse potential with results.

Define "good" because if you don't think we need to extend Jayden Reed as soon as we can, then I'm assuming the only receivers you'd ever extend are like, Justin Jefferson and prime Calvin Johnson.

Did you miss where I said I'm not sure any of them get extended?

It's a long season and Watson or Doubs could explode in the last 12-15 games, but I'm not betting on it.

One thing to keep in mind: this is a really bad draft class if you're looking for offensive weapons. I'm seeing only two WRs, one RB, and one TE that would be first rounders in most years.

He can't be extended until '26, so still a ways out.

Wonder if they end up putting Musgrave on 4-week IR to get fully right. Even though Tucker is the more complete TE, Musgrave is still a weapon when lined up in the slot and they could use some of his speed to stretch the field.

Well that answers that.

Of the Watson/Doubs group, I'm probably extending whoever takes the cheaper deal. I get the notion that they haven't been world beaters. But Watson is a legit big body deep threat when he's healthy and Doubs has a knack for making contested catches and getting open off schedule. They're worth keeping, but I'm not paying them top-tier WR money by any means.

Kraft is a physical player, so it's not so surprising that's he's getting dinged up. Hopefully he is mended up enough by Sunday so that he can play well.
