Didn't even cost them a first. This years second rounder and next years second rounder. Pretty good deal for the Phins. Discuss.

I think it's a good deal for both teams.

When Marshall isn't being a giant d-bag, he is one of the top 5 WRs in the NFL, IMO.

He just signed an extension. 4 years, 47.5 million with 24 million guaranteed. That includes his 2.5 million tender this year so 5 years 50 million total.

Better the Dolphins than the Bears. 24 mil guaranteed is a bit on the high side for a nut job like him.

Marshal is a beast. Best WR in the NFL right now. And what he did when he was pissed off last season with punting the ball was awesome. Wish the Packers wouldof had balls to make a play for him.

I would not have given up a second round pick this year and next for him, especially not coupled with the contract extension he got. It just isn't a position of need for the Packers.

It's an interesting question. If he grows up and a change of scenery is what he needed, then Miami probably got a bargain because as has been said, he's one of the league's best.
I'm also not sure I'd say WR isn't a position of need. Is it an immediate one? No. But McCarthy was at Dez Bryant's pro day. He could be looking for DD's long term replacement.
If I were given that option, our 2nds in the next two years or Marshall...I probably don't make that deal. But it's close. The reason I don't is because I'd like to have the flexibility to move up in round one or two this year. I think the strength of this draft is between #9-#17, and again in the top half of round 2. Unless a few players unexpectedly drop, I'd like to see the Packers either move up or move down.

I agree that down the road we are going to need to find a replacement for DD, but it isn't a need this year and this is a deep draft so I wouldn't be willing to part with that right now.
If he can fix his attitude it could definitely turn out to be a steal for Miami. I view this as a good trade for both teams right now.
I'm also with you on either moving up or down. I anticipate the Packers moving down and having no pick in the first round, unless someone that they really like falls.

I think this was a great trade for Miami, they really needed to add a go to WR. Brandon Marshall is neck and neck with Larry Fitzgerald for #1 WR in the league. I question whether Marshall can stay focused and out of trouble in south beach though.
I'd have to say Chad Henne is now officially on my sleeper QB list for fantasy purposes. Marshall can single handily make a QB. Just look at how well Cutler and Orton did with him/without him.

Yea Marshall in South Beach for five years seems bad odds to me on the trouble front

Wow, I'm not as crazy about this one as you guys are. Two 2nd round picks and a huge extension for a guy with serious character ref flags. I'll never question his talent but this is anything but a slam dunk trade imo.

Yes that was so mature. I'm glad the Packers didn't go after him. He wouldn't be the number one option here and he wouldn't like that.

I don't think we should have traded for him, but from a "Madden" standpoint, how nasty would Brandon Marshall and Jermichael Finley be together? Then throw in Jennings, Driver etc. That would be a lot of fun to watch and I'm sure Aaron would love it as well.

I'd rather we go after Ginn. As a returner he could be one of the final pieces we need to make a run for the Lombardi Trophy.

Ginn would be awesome to have as a returner and on ofense.

Ginn got traded to the 49ers today. Too bad. I would have liked him. I hope we can get someone in the later rounds of the draft who can return kicks, but I doubt that'll happen. Maybe Blackmon can stay healthy this year.
