OT: Seahawks cut LenDale White; may be suspended

Acquired from the Tennessee Titans in a trade, White reported to the Seahawks in great shape. He was down to 220 pounds after being 250 pounds at times as a member of the Titans.

"It became apparent at this time that LenDale was not ready to be a member of the Seattle Seahawks," Seahawks GM John Schneider said. "It just did not appear to be the right fit at this point in our program. We wish LenDale all the best with his future."

The trade reunited White with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, whom White played for at USC.

Says he's facing a 4 game suspension for the substance abuse policy. I wonder what he did. Do we even consider him backing up Grant?

I do not believe we are going to sign anybody, from what I have read it seems they are very excited by James Starks.

No I don't think we will even consider bringing him in as a backup.

Why? His college coach wouldn't even put up with him, and he's pretty crappy when he does play.

I guess I haven't followed White all that closely. The only thing I had heard about him since he was traded was that he lost a bunch of weight. At the time I was thinking he could be great for short yartage situations and goal line sets until I remembered how awesome our offense is on the goal line.

I guess I shouldn't say he's pretty crappy, that was an exaggeration. He was over 1000 his rookie year and had 15 TDs his second. Last year (after he lost the weight but while CJ was going ape ****) he only got 64 carries for 222 yds and 2 TDs. I've never been a fan of him though, I think he's a headcase. If his former college coach wouldn't even put up with him, that's a huge red flag in my opinion.

If he wasn't facing a suspension right now I would have guessed that Carrol was trying to help out one of his old players by getting him out of a dead end in Tennessee. Obviously, that's not the case.

If the guy has serious drug issues then stay away. On the other hand, Andre Rison did what was needed that super bowl year. This team still needs a legit battering ram RB. We don't have one. I could do a waiver pickup of the guy if his background check didn't show a total mess.

No thank you. He have never really thought much of LenDale as a player, now the extra drug baggage on top of it? Not a chance TT even considers it, IMO.
