One day after the Minnesota Vikings placed Pro Bowl wide receiver Sidney Rice on the physically unable to perform list with a "lingering" hip problem, fellow wideout Percy Harvin was carted off the team's practice field with an unspecified injury, according to The Star Tribune.
Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell didn't see Harvin leave the field during Saturday's morning practice, and was unaware of the injury. He was told of the incident by the media.
Earlier in practice, Harvin caught a pass from quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in tight coverage. He lost his helmet on the play, fell to the ground, and tried to run off the field. It's unknown if that contributed to the injury.
As a rookie in 2009, Harvin set a Vikings record with 2,081 combined yards, second in the NFC. He recorded two kickoff returns for a touchdown, including a 101-yarder, and ranked fourth in the NFL with a 27.5-yard kickoff return average (42 returns for 1,156 yards). In 15 games, Harvin had 60 receptions for 790 yards and six touchdowns and 135 rushing yards on 15 attempts.
