Could Schobel be a stand up OLB in a 3-4? I noticed it appears he has been released and the Packers are desperate for a quality OLB.......Chillar at 235 won't cut it.

Nice topic. I was thinking about this earlier today.

He's getting interest from 3-4 teams. I would be thrilled if we brought him in.

Leave it to the Bills to cut their best defensive player.

Yes please to Schobel. Looking at our OLB depth with Brad Jones injured is scary, even if it's just early on in training camp.

Is he considering retirement because of the change to the 3-4 or does he not want to play for the Bills? This could be the Kampman experiment all over again.

Might be a combination of scheme change and a favor to a vet looking to play for a winner. I don't know. He's not considering retirement anymore supposedly.

I could see him on the Pats or Jets. He was a Horned Frog, maybe he goes to Houston?

If Buffalo defensive end Aaron Schobel decides to play a 10th season and gains his release from the Bills, Houston is his destination of choice.

The Bills said Monday that Schobel’s career in Buffalo is over and, if he elects to come out of retirement, they would try to trade him rather than release him. But Schobel’s base salary is $8 million this season, and a trade is unlikely.

“If I were a free agent and I could choose a team, it would be the Texans, without a doubt,” Schobel, 32, said Monday from his home in Columbus.

Doubt it.

I don't think he really prefers to come here and it just really isn't Thompson's style to bring him in.

To me, Brad Jones starting the entire season at OLB without anyone to push him or take the job is scary...

I still wish we would inquire about merriman. If he becomes 80% the player he was 2 years ago, he and clay would be disgusting together.
