Heard from a very reliable source this AM that TT called Cleveland asking about James Davis. I don't see anything coming from it, but what is notable is that GB initiated the talks. Thompson is one of those GMs that lets things come to him, not making the calls. That tells me he knows he misgauged his locker room in not pulling the trigger on Lynch and is looking to send a message to the team itself that he is actively trying. Probably too little too late in terms of getting anything useful though.
I heard thru a grapevine that he called KC about Demorrio Williams as well. That's second-hand info so I can't judge its validity, but it sure makes sense. ILB with 3-4 experience even though he's played his way to two different benches.

Totally forgot about this guy, talented back. Go get him, TT.

I have not heard of either of them. Though I'd take the ILB over the RB at this point.

He was the other half of that great Clemson backfield a couple years ago with Spiller.

James Davis has some talent. If we could get him in a deal like we got Ryan Grant for, that would probably be worth it.

There's the problem. I'd rather stab myself in the eyes with an ice pick than watch ACC football.

At this point, aren't we like one week away from seeing what Starks can do? Or is he still going to be hurt?

Aren't players on the PUP list not even able to technically practice with the team and just allowed to rehab? Just seems to me like a rookie who wouldn't have any practice time even if he was healthy and ready to come would take a couple of weeks of practice to get up to speed.

I thought I read something that said Starks was the most likely of the three guys on the PUP list to return right away.

Good lord, how could Bigby and Harris not be ready by now? Remember when Harris laughed off suggestions that he wouldn't be ready for game 1?

My thoughts exactly.

Bigby tweeted earlier in the week that it was almost time to come back, I was guessing he would be the closest to ready since it was a little surprising that he was even put on PUP to begin.

So when is the trade deadline, Saturday at midnight?
Tough to say how I feel about making a deal now, with finley out and the other injuries, it just doesn't seem like our year. That being said, if TT can get a rb for a low pick, what's there to lose?

Well, FWIW, Jerome Harrison was traded today as well. They did get back a RB in the deal, though (Bell).
I really liked Davis in college and I think he could be an upgrade but I wouldn't be overly excited about this.

Icness emailed me this a few hours ago.
"The harrison trade kills any chance for davis now."

Well keep in mind that Harris tore his ACL in November last year. I think right around the Minnesota game would still be a little bit early for him to actually come back but we'll see. If he was talking about coming back for the opener, he should be ready by next Sunday.
Bigby has to be ready to go.

I'm not a big Bigby fan but we certainly need him back, hopefully next week. It takes awhile to get into game shape though. I could see him getting torched by Harvin/Moss. I just wish we were full strength, we'd crush the Queens. Now I'm not so sure.

Finely is a very good TE but losing a TE is not gonna make or break a season. We have good depth at TE also. Losing Grant with no depth is something that will break your season. Ill say it over and over get Deagelo Williams now. Wasn't the news a few weeks ago that the Panthers would trade Williams if they lost a few more games in a row?
