OT: Rutgers football player paralyzed from neck down

I'm not going to post the video of it, because it's horrendous to watch but you can find it on youtube if you dare to look. Hopefully he can walk again like Kevin Everett and Adam Taliaferro as mentioned in the article.

Saw this clip on YouTube... Reminds you how dangerous football really is.

Lowered his head instead of keeping his facemask up. I remember this happened (not getting paralyzed, but a guy hurting his neck by lowering his head) in an NFL game a couple of weeks ago and (I never played football, so I wouldn't know) the announcers were saying that's one of the first things you learn in pee-wee is to tackle with your facemask up, not with your head down.

I guess this is why.

Really sad, hopefully he can move around.

Yeah, "spearing" is illegal for both your protection and their protection. I only played low level football and your taught that every year. Still, it is an instinct thing and that's how some players play.
