Week 8: Jets Lead Up

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Mon Oct 25, 2010 12:36 pm

Well, it doesn't get any easier, as the Packers travel to play arguably the best team in the NFL at this moment (I think it is them or Pitt at this moment).

I have no idea what our injury situation looks like. By my last count, Jenkins, Pickett, Neal, Harris, Bigby were all out but close or just nicked up. It's possible we could have all five, it's possible we could have zero of them vs. the Jets. Be nice to get healthy now, but at least the bye is coming in two weeks.

Given everything that has happened, if we can just get into the bye at 5-4, I'll be OK with that. This is going to be a very tough game to win.

If the O-line protects and Rogers doesn't screw up terribly I think we can win.

Need some of our defense to get healthy as well.

There is speculation that Neal is done for the year.

I think that we actually match up well with the Jets. Not confident we're going to win but this should be a pretty decent game. Revis has looked just as ordinary as C-Wood this year too.

I don't think we match up well. Jets have a very good pass protecting offensive line and a very strong running game. We have a banged up DL. On offense, they have a great secondary and we haven't really been able to run the ball. I see points being hard to come by for us.

Oh god. I'm going to enjoy this win vs the queens for a couple more days before I even think about the jets.

If Pickett can get healthy, our D-Line should be fine against their O-Line.... we really missed Pickett last night in terms of the running game..

Sanchez is due for turnovers, he has been flawless so far. That defense scares the daylights outta me though

If our defensive line doesn't get healthier than it is... I think we are going to get smashed. Their offensive line is pretty good and they have two good backs... It'll be a long day for us in terms of trying to stop the run.

It definitely wasn't a coincidence that our run D started to deteriorate once Pickett left the game. If he's able to go, I think we'll be able to bottle up their run enough to make Sanchez throw the football. If not, it could be another story.

Their defense is really overrated, btw.

The Jets run blocking has been superb and the pass blocking has been about average. Their run defense has also been great but their pass defense has been below average. They do make big plays at the right moments though and Cromartie has improved a lot this season.

Jets off a bye week, Pack after a huge emotional win. On the road. I expect a 10+ point loss BUT who knows. If Rodgers and his receivers get their **** together the offense will score. Sanchez isn't all that good. LT is having a good year but we just faced AP and still won.

I guess a blowout loss won't surprise me and a solid win won't surprise me.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Neal has tweeted that he is done until 2011, so he's definitely out for the year.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy said DE Mike Neal and LB Brady Poppinga will both have season-ending surgery for their respective injuries.

BrianCarriveau Brian Carriveau
MM on Neal: We knew the extent of the injury right away. Sometimes you're able to rehab & play through it. Not the case with Mike.

BrianCarriveau Brian Carriveau
MM: With Poppinga, there was more damage than what they found on initial scope.

This doesn't sound good:

TomSilverstein tom silverstein
MM: Jenkins' calf injury could be a problem. It's to the same calf he's injured before. The fact it happened in warm-ups is not a good sign.

Also:

MM: D. Driver was nowhere close to 100% Sunday. "For him to miss practice, he really has to be hurting. I hope he'll be full time this week.

Eventually we are going to run out of players.

Aaron Rodgers + 52 guys off of the street = Dominance?

Surgery tomorrow. Injuries are part of the game but I'm ready for this surgery. I'm attacking it not letting it attack me! #letsgo!

Not worried about DD. I think he'll be ready to go next week.

Jenkins, on the other hand, I'm not sure about.

Return to Green Bay Packers
