I think the suspensions are stupid to begin with but if they are going to suspend them it should be immediately and for the bowl game.

The NCAA is a bad joke
They can sell jersey's with the players name on it and make money off them, but if a player does the same thing or sells their own ring, they get suspended.

Pretty sure the NCAA can't sell jerseys with players' names on them, just the numbers. It's why everyone is nameless in college sports video games.
But the NCAA is really stupid regardless. This just goes to show just how much money the NCAA gets from bowl games. Make no sense how they shouldn't be suspended for the bowl.

I have a feeling that on appeal the suspension will be reduced to 4 games so OSU isn't short handed at all during conference play.

DEZ_88 Dez Bryant
I guess I should have got into a lot of trouble in college...maybe I would have gotten less punishment? lol
DEZ_88 Dez Bryant
I lied and then came back and told the truth....I didn't take no money, was not communicating with no agents at all.. NCAA is crazy
I think Dez Bryant did get screwed when you compare his punishment to Pryor's.

I'm not gonna say the suspensions are stupid, especially since the Badgers got in trouble for the Shoe Box stuff. BUT, it's absolutely insane that they're allowed to play in the bowl game and then start the suspensions next season. Just the NCAA again proving how big of a joke they are.

I thought this was interesting. Yeah, sure - they're gonna be held to this.

Yeah I thought this was kind of lame, it's basically the honor system. There is nothing stopping Pryor from going to the NFL. Although I suppose if he did declare he'd basically destroy any relationship he had with Tressell because Tressell would look like a fool.

Honestly, when I heard about this I thought it was pretty abominable on Ohio State's part to threaten the players eligiblity in the bowl game over a suspension that is ridiculous in the first place. I mean selling their own jerseys? I don't see the harm in that. It's not like it's a mass product. Pryor isn't asking for a new jersey everyday and pawning them off. The NCAA makes so much money as it is off Pryor anyway. My point being though is that it's over something as juvenile as players selling some of their stuff and not something like drunk driving. Then I could see this being justified.
Then again, it's not like a contract or anything they are bound too. At worst it would look like they were unloyal to their word though, but they shouldn't be put in that predicament in the first place, especially if say, Pryor or someone else, actually wanted to go regardless of the suspensions or not.
