Looks like a pretty manageable schedule. Especially at home.

Yep, I'm not going to set myself up for ridicule by trying to predict how next season's record 8 months before it starts.

Do we still get this schedule if there is a lock out for the entire season? I like that schedule especially when we add all of our injured players + another stacked TT draft. Assuming we don't win it all this year, next year might be the beginning of our dynasty.

I've always wanted to go to a game in KC, this may be the year I do it!

Looks better on paper but it's really impossible to tell.

True, but even before this year we were able to look at the schedule and correctly identify the tough games (NE, NYJ, ATL, WAS (I did, at least), CHI.

This is my response to a report of any future pro schedule:



NBA and MLB - too many games for it to make a discernible difference, and there aren't much variation to them whatsoever.

NFL - from season to season there's so much volatility in teams' success throughout the league.

There will always be surprise teams, good and bad, so it's hard to tell. But this looks fairly tough. New Orleans is good. Tampa is good. Rams and Raiders on the rise. Denver not good. On the road, the Chargers, well it's hard to tell. Talented though. Kansas City is on the rise and it very good at home. Atlanta is good and the Giants have some talent. Panthers suck.

Instead of the Rams and Giants Chicago gets Seattle at home and Philly on the road. Minny gets Cardinals at home and Washington on the road. Detroit gets San Francisco at home and Dallas on the road.

I hope we get the Chargers early in the year when they suck, and the Saints late in the year when its cold.

The NFL will probably **** us over though.

It will be interesting to see how they do an 18 game schedule in 2012. Right now there are 14 common opponents. Will they add 2 more conference games? 2 non conference games? One of each? I hope they don't add more foreign games but I'm afraid they will. Goodell has talked about every team having to give up a home game at some point, which would suck. I can understand teams that don't sell out but if the Packers, Bears, Steelers or any other team that sells out has to give up a home game there will be trouble

Our home schedule features 4 dome teams, Minnesota, Detroit, New Orleans and St. Louis and 2 warm weather teams, Tampa and Oakland. But our December home games will probably be Chicago and Denver.

I would add two conference games to the games where you only play one team in the division.

For example, next year we play the Giants and Rams, the 2nd place teams in their respective divisions. If you finish in 1st or 4th place in your division you play the 1st and 4th place teams in those divisions. If you finish in 2nd or 3rd place, you play the 2nd and 3rd place teams.

So next year we would play the Giants and Cowboys and the Rams and 49ers.

That's probably how they will work it. Two more conference games. I wonder if they will add an extra bye week... I think they will. That will extend the season 3 weeks. And since they don't want to start until after Labor day the Super Bowl will now be at the end of February. Lots more cold/snow games in the regular season and playoffs. I kind of like those.

I agree, I don't want 18 games. I think the schedule they have now is perfect, but they'll probably go to 18.

Goodell has said 18 is a done deal. And technically the players don't even have to agree to it although Goodell said he would make it part of the CBA.

I know football is a business and all businesses do everything the can to grow revenue and profits but it still sucks. Most teams include preseason games in their season ticket package so this will just shift one game to a regular season game. The price per ticket goes up some. In the Packers case it's a sellout either way. The main revenue growth will come from increased TV money for 2 extra weeks of games. Actually 3 if they add another bye week. And the fans are left with more injured players and more meaningless late season games.
