Hopefully Capers' age leads to less interest around the league. Looks like he will get some looks though.
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/113162669.htmlThe Denver Broncos are interested in interviewing Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers for their head coaching vacancy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Schefter reported the Broncos' interest in Capers on "Sunday NFL Countdown."
Schefter also said former San Francisco 49ers Mike Singletary will wind up as the linebackers coach of the Minnesota Vikings on the staff of head coach Leslie Frazier. Jeff Imamura was the defensive assistant/linebackers coach for the Vikings this season.
Charley Casserly of CBS-TV's "The NFL Today" did not put Capers on his list of candidates for the Denver job.
Casserly mentioned Broncos interim head coach Eric Studesville, New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, Jacksonville offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, Houston offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, New Orleans defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, Atlanta offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and former Carolina head coach John Fox.
Both Casserly and ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur has a shot at becoming the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Shurmur is the nephew of former Packers defensive coordinator Fritz Shurmur, who was on Mike Holmgren's staff. Holmgren is now the president of the Browns.

I don't think hes gonna leave, and I think he was a bad head coach. But hes a great defense coordinator and i wouldn't want anyone else running the defense. Do what it takes to keep him here.

I hope he stays. I would give him an extension and pay raise to keep him here.

Just have to keep winning, these teams are going to want to fill their vacancies sooner than later and the longer we keep winning the longer they have to wait to interview him. That is our best bet right now.

I'd make him the highest paid coordinator in the league if that is what it took.

I'm not really sure if he was a bad HC or not. He coached two expansion teams and obviously Houston still hasn't really done a whole lot since he was fired there.
Obviously I want him to stay and be our version of Dick LeBeau.

Fire MM and promote Capers to head coach if that's what it takes to keep him.
Then tell the Broncos MM is available but they're not getting capers.

I've always wondered what this title meant in the NFL. I know Winston Moss is currently Ass. HC but he wasn't even considered for D-coordinator before Capers got fired and I doubt if MM got fired he would get a real look to replace him. It seems to me it's mostly just a ceremonial title.

haha, I'm stuned that you're stuned.
But in fairness to MM,that comment is more of a testament to how high I value Capers than how much im not a fan of MM.

Seriously though, at Capers' age I think he is content sitting in the booth drawing up plays for a Super Bowl contender.

He's getting up there in age, and a lot of the NFL analysts I've read/listened to said they think he's too old to become a HC now. AFAIK, he'd go in as the second oldest HC coach in the NFL behind Coughlin.
As selfish as it sounds, I hope he stays here.

That makes sense. At 60 years old I wouldn't want to go to a be the head coach of a team that's in a complete rebuild. Especially when I'm the defensive coordinator for a team that's in the Final 8 with a ton of injuries.

packer_update Michael Rodney
Interesting note from Adam Schefter - Dom Capers would've been Jason Garrett's DC had he taken either the Atlanta or Baltimore job in 2008.

If Capers does happen leave
(I may get hated on for this)
But i think Mike Singletary would be good as a D coordinator.
