Is Aaron Rodgers the best qb in the NFL?

Post#1 » by an_also » Mon Feb 7, 2011 10:04 pm

I've always been in the camp of saying Brady has been the best qb in the league for the last 5 years or so. All bias aside, seeing what Rodgers did this year has made me change my tune. I can honestly say I'll take Rodgers over Brady, Manning, Brees, Rivers, Big Ben. Even Manning isnt as accurate as Rodgers. The throws he made last night were unreal. The two passes to Jennings were >>>>>>>

Going forward, I think Rodgers is definitely the best qb in the league.

I still say Brady #1 (he was asinine this year with a lot of turnover), but I have Rodgers at #2 right now. I saw some slip in Peyton this year and I think Rodgers has passed him.

I don't know where I'd rank him. I'd probably say #1. I don't think even Brady could make a couple of the throws Rodgers did last night.

I know for a fact that there isn't another player in the league I'd trade him for. It's not even close in that regard.

Agreed with the second sentence. There isn't a player I would even think about trading Rodgers for.

I'd rank Brady above him still, but not by much. Then again I rank Brady as the best football player of all-time.

Rodgers is on track to be a Hall of Famer and maybe the best player in Packer history. He honestly has the skills and talent to be known as one of, if not the best ever if he keeps it up, stays healthy and the Packers continue to win.

He would certainly be the first player I would pick to start a franchise, that isn't even close.

Does snowboarding count? Because the Flying Tomato is pretty stupid.

Also, no way I would put Bieber over Rodgers.

It used to say on Wikipedia that Nikola Pekovic's nickname was "The Montenegrin Rapist"

I find it amusing you so 'no way' like it shouldn't even be discussed.

Brady has the two best seasons (or two of the top 3 best) a QB has ever had and he has lead his team to 3 championships.

Rodgers has work to do if he wants to surpass him.

I would have to put Brady over Rodgers....I think.

Although I do find it interesting to say the least, that they haven't won a playoff game any season after they got caught cheating.

If all the players were tossed into a draft for the upcoming season and I had the #1 pick I'm taking Rodgers. His mobility and ability to play extremely well behind a suspect line (not in the last few games, but you know what I mean) puts him above Brady and Manning at this point, IMO. It is debatable if they are even better in the pocket than AR, but his athleticism and ability to make plays on the move sets him apart.

Realistically, what flaws does he have?

Exactly. Brady is great but you saw what happens to him when his O-line has a bad game. He cant throw on the run like Rodgers can. Brady is probably the best when he gets protection but Rodgers has that extra element that Elway had. The rocket arm and accuracy on the run.

Going into next year, you can really really make a good case for Rodgers as the best qb presently in the league right now.

I think his mobility makes him the best overall QB in the NFL

And his OL wasn't even that bad that game, they just decided to play max coverage and rush 3-4 all game and Brady couldn't find guys downfield at all. Play that way against AR and he'll move out of the pocket to breakdown the coverage or pick up big 1st downs with his feet.

I think it would be pretty LOL to try the type of max coverage that has worked in the past against Brady and Manning. His ability to improvise would shred that D IMO, but we haven't yet seen it as a strategy for an entire game.
