Does believe in Williams as a PR?

I could never understand putting a pro-bowl caliber CB as a PR when he isn't a big-time play maker. On top of that, he is constantly putting us in dangerous positions and those TOs could've cost us the game. I can understand a guy getting block into him, but when ever he lets a ball bounce, he follows it around and it comes close to hitting him. That is inexcusable as a returner. If you can't field it promptly, yell scatter and get everyone the hell out of there. He acts like he will pick it up with 6 guys around.
I feel PR is the number 1 priority this off-season. Not necessarily in spending resources but as an objective.

He didn't constantly put us in bad positions with his decision making. He was actually extremely good at fielding punts all year. He saved us yards all year by fielding the ball well much like Wood did a few years ago.
I don't want him as a PR going forward, but he was quite good at his job despite his poor average.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Bring somebody in or draft somebody. He's way the **** too valuable to have him back there.

I will go to the grave without ever knowing why Swain couldn't do it.

Personally I liked Jordy as our returners. He's not the flashiest and you don't expect him to take one all the way back, but he was still good enough to catch the damn ball and then look for holes, while also not being high enough on the depth chart to cringe every time a defender is running at him.

Hey TT brought in Sam Shields thinking he could be a KR/PR, just turns out he was better fit as a pretty damn good nickle

I want a PR/KR too but if whoever TT brings in for that role ends up being better fit for a starter with crazy upside/potential I won't complain

Tramon drives me nuts with the amount of balls he intentionally plays off the bounce. Either catch it or get the hell out of there, imo.
Also, like in the OP, he's really not good enough at returning to justify the risk. If he was DeSean Jackson or Devin Hester, fine. But he's more or less average.

I don't want a starter, especially someone as good as him, on special teams. A good PR/KR should be high on TT's list.

I know Ted isn't a big free agency guy and he's spent a lot of cash retaining players, but if he can't find a returner in the draft, i'd like see Ted consider signing Leon Washington who i believe is a free agent.

Santana Moss too. He can be a slot guy/burner and also be a solid PR.
Edit: Holllyyy **** I didn't see Moss' numbers until now. He'll be looking for a payday and a chance to start. Damn.

I am not sure if this is Ted's style but I am praying that he spends a 3rd or 4th round pick on a guy that is strictly returns who we can put back there on Kick and punt returns. Someone who actually has a chance at breaking a long run every now and then.
