Sunday Without Football - HATE IT

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Feb 13, 2011 4:28 pm

I hate this, no football. Big letdown. The week before the Super Bowl was the Pro Bowl which doesn't really count but there was tons of football (Packers) coverage that day. Now, nothing. The lull between football and baseball is a long 6 weeks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I really don't know what to do. Basketball doesn't quite cut it after you've won the Super Bowl, but I guess it will have to do today. Oh well, only 2 months or so until the draft!

For those of us who love the NCAA basketball thing, there have been some good matchups to hold us over lately. But let's be honest, the one argument the BCS claims to have in its favor about a tourney not being great is that NCAA bball regular season games aren't as fun because of the tournament (then again, the NCAAF one would be shorter and different), but I digress.

Anyways, what I'm getting at is we've got 2 weeks until conference tournaments. For me, the Month of February sucks. Conference tourneys get going as March begins. Love watching those. Then the tournament. Then opening day of baseball. Thank god. These 2 weeks are really going to suck, though.

I'm about to order my MLB.tv package. Can't wait to come home from work, crack a few beers, and watch the guy in my avatar toil away.

Illinois is on, so it's not a total waste today. Celtics-Heat is an intriguing matchup too.

Then of course for hicks like me, the Daytona 500 is next week.

February definitely isn't a great month. We have the Bucks Tank Watch, reports out of spring training for the Crew, and maybe a decent college basketball game here and there. After March it is good though, spring training games, conference and NCAA tournament, then after that we're heading up to all the NFL draft stuff. Maybe the Bucks give us 4 games against Miami too!!!!

Yeah I can see that because to you only have MLB, and its all-star game. That said, NFL teams are getting ready for camp so you can get some chatter out of that. Probably 2nd worst month, though.

Great hockey game on NBC right now. Two original six franchises battling at Joe Louis.
