4th or better.

I've defended him over the years because I thought he was better than he was given credit, but I understand the idea of trading him. Still, I think Packer fans should be happy with what he has given over the years. If you were to take a child on your knee and talk about the MLB play in GB over the years, Barnett would not be a joke.

I would LOVE a 3rd, but I think realistically we're looking at a 4th

LOL at anyone willing to give us a pick for him. Giving TT even more ammo would be great, regardless of where the pick is.

Barnett is still a damn good LB. IDK what his contract would look like for a team after a trade, but if it is reasonable Barnett would be a solid starter at MLB or WLB.

Dude has gotten so much hate. If he had been our MLB during the mid-90's he'd be loved, IMO.

He's injury prone, will be 30 by the start of the season, and he's average at best when fully healthy. He's also got an inflated ego. I can't see a team willing to give much up for him, but I hope they do.

I definitely understand the desire to trade him with Bishop and Hawk locked up but I also agree with Ayt that he has gotten a horrible rap here for some reason. I really don't get the hate for him. So what if he was outspoken? It all goes back to the whole "shut up and play" mentality that a lot of fans have and it bugs me to no end.

IDK. Barnett was pretty damn good the year before last. The NFL trade market is pretty **** up, so I have no idea what we could get for him. He might be worth only a 6th.

If I was a player, I'd have a "shut up and blow me" attitude for the fans. It is a **** sport for **** sake. I'd totally **** with the media (or go insane).

I'd try to be like Al Harris was in his comments and interviews basically. That dude was awesome.

I think it stems from his celebrations after he tackles a running back that just went for 15 yards. He's always acted like he was a pro bowler when in reality he's just an average LB. He makes starter level money, so if we could move him for a pick or even cut him it would benefit our cap and help us sign some more important players.

I liked Barnett, but Hawk and Bishop are playing at a higher level and are younger and Chillar's versatility means 5.5 for Barnett is far too much.

can the pack pay like 1 or 2 mil of his salary this year, kind of like the trades we see in baseball?? Barnett at 4.5 or 3.5 is a better deal and could involve a third round pick since he's on a better contract.

Hyperbole FTW. My issue with Barnett was his inability to stay healthy. When he was out there he was a good player except for the year that he hurt his knee. He was bad even before the injury that year but other than that I thought he was a good MLB for this team.

I completely agree with this, which is why I'm completely fine with moving him for whatever we can get.

The way I see Barnett was that he was one of our best defensive players other than when he was hurt. Even as recently as 2009 he was a very active MLB.

Still, given the other players we have and the fit for our D, Barnett is not needed. I could see him signing for a veteran defense (Colts?) that needs an active MLB like him with him doing well. He likely has 2-3 good years left in him if healthy.

With a disruptive front 4 in front of him, Barnett can still be a very good MLB.

I would have been fine with whichever two of those guys we kept, but I think Barnett going out makes the most sense.

Yeah I highly doubt that we will be able to get anything for the guy. His salary is a little outrageous at 6.5 million for a guy that has been injured a lot recently, has some flaws in his game when he is healthy, and is a little too outspoken for some peoples liking. If we can even somehow get a 6th rounder of it, pull the trigger immediately. Otherwise just cut him and good riddance to the guy
