Mayock: Thought he could have gone higher. Needs to work on his hips.

Conference: Western Athletic
HT: 6-0.5
WT: 200
40 Time: 4.42
Biography: "Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors the past two seasons. Senior totals included 57/2/10, when he struggled throughout the year with an ankle injury. Junior numbers included 68/3/13."

Positives: "Athletic cornerback with good size and ball skills. Fluid pedaling in reverse, quick flipping his hips, and smooth in all his movements. Plays heads-up football, shows a burst of closing speed, and effectively positions himself against opponents to defend the throw. Fast up the field to defend the run and aggressive with opponents throughout routes. Displays the ability to drive to the ball out of his plant."

Negatives: Does not take proper angles to the action in run defense. Loses a half step out of his transition turning to run with opponents. Slow reacting at times.

Analysis: House is a talented player who has been productive on the college level. He comes with a great amount of upside and has starting potential in the NFL if he is able to fine-tune his game and consistently do the little things well.

Projection: 3rd

It sounds like House found a very good situation for himself. He won't be thrust into covering WRs that he has no chance of covering.

Sounds like most of his weaknesses or things that can change via coaching. Has the athleticism needed.

Sounds like an Al Harris-type corner.

Chuck, Tramon, and Collins will teach him how to dominate film. Love how our vets take the younger guys under their wing.

Ted Thompson is just a surgeon.

From the video it looks like he is kind of stiff and long-legged which gives him a real physical problem with coming out of his breaks. That means he projects to get beat deep a lot as a corner, and then short if he tries to compensate by backing off.

It's possible Ted drafted him as a safety though because of his size/speed combo and hitting ability, ala Nick Collins. I believe Collins was listed as a corner coming out of college, but Ted had different intentions. House would be better off not having to turn and run, or at least be given time to do so, while mostly running downhill.

I remember hearing a media guy from Miami a couple of months ago talking about how they were all laughing at how bad Shields had been in coverage as a senior. They couldn't believe how well he did as a rook. Coaching and hard work. House could be a good one.

Shields is a fluid athlete, so I don't think the situations are comparable.

NFL Draft Scout had him as the 56 rated player in the draft.

And @TomSilverstein points out that unlike Shields and Underwood, House has played a ton coming in as a four-year starter.
