I'll be going to this game. I've never been to Lambeau for a game . My friend got 4 $200 club tickets for $50 a piece. Looking forward to it even though it's a preseason game.

HS football in my town was moved up so I'll be able to catch this one. Like it.

No injuries. I really don't care about anything else.

Stupid that they've moved up HS football in this state to start tomorrow night. In my city they'll play 3 games before school even starts. Stupid. I know some Green Bay HS games have been moved to 4:00.

I seem to remember starting the season August 28ish so, yeah, damn...sounds about right.

What, is this so that they can have better weather at the end of the season?

I thought games were played before school started everywhere in this state. That's the way it's been in the Valley and Rivers conferences for years. Huh.

Guys, we always played ONE game at the very end of August before school started. Game two normally was on the first Friday of school.

What MD is saying is that they'll have one August 19, 26, and right before Labor Day...so possibly THREE before school.

Looks like it's being moved up a week, though the way the calendar works out this year, makes it seem like two. Though, it could be a two week move up.

On the year bar, roll back to the previous years. It's 8/19 this year and was always in that 8/24 - 8/30 range depending on how the Fridays slotted. However, I seem to remember we'd play one Friday before school started. Then, we'd get into school the next Thursday and have a game on Friday (Labor Day weekend).

I'm not sure when all districts start, but to me, it seems like they'll play two and then have that third game on the Friday right before Labor Day.

Originally HS football started the Friday after Labor Day. When they started the playoffs, I think it was in the 70's, they moved it up a week to the Friday before labor day. Then they expanded the playoffs and moved it up another week. And now they've moved it up yet another week. Many schools start the Tuesday after labor day, those schools will have played 3 games before school starts. The others that start the week before labor day will play 2. I believe they want to spread the playoffs out a little more, they were concerned that there were Tuesday/Saturday games and I think they've eliminated that but I don't know the playoff schedule.

I just checked and last year the first games were on 8/27.

And there is a propsal to change things up completely. Instead of the current 9 game schedule (usually 2 non conference and 7 conference games depending on the number of teams in the conference), they are going to eliminate all non conference games, shorten the season to 7 games and then every team makes the playoffs. And if you lose in the first round of the playoffs you play another game against another loser. Or something like that, lol. Sounds dumb to me. I didn't hear a lot of complaints about high school football in our state, sometimes the "powers" in charge like to make changes just because they can.

Sucks that Clay's hammy's are bothering him again. Sounds like this will be a yearly problem.

We should just sit Clay until week 1. We can't afford for him to miss any time once the season starts.
