Palmer on his way to Oakland it sounds. And this tweet from Mort can't mean what I think it means, right? Like he just worded this wrong?

mortreport: As the Raiders give up a 1st rounder in 2012 for Carson Palmer & conditional 1st rder in 2013, Bengals also had discussed LB Aaron Curry

A first for Carson Palmer? Wut?

Oh my god.

The 2013 pick is a conditional - it can become a first rounder based on playtime, other incentives. Plus the 2012 first rounder

My God we should have tried to trade them Flynn.

When I heard they were talking trade I assumed he would be moved for a 5th rounder. This is absurd, even by Oakland standards.

I love the Bengals as an up and coming franchise now. Although they should fire Marvin Lewis. Dalton and Green are a great young QB-WR combo. Now they should try to draft a good young back and defense.

If this Palmer deal goes through, the Raiders have only two draft choices for next year _ a 5 and 6 _ but they will have a quarterback

1. Gresham is also a very, very good player.
2. Drafting a young back early would be dumb, IMO. RBs ARE NOT THAT VALUABLE. :D
3. They should continue to focus on WR and their O-Line to surround Dalton with more weapons/protect him.
4. I agree they need to work on their D.

They'll have plenty of picks to accomplish 3 and 4 now.

I didn't say draft a running back early. I said they should draft one. :D Benson and Scott are not the answers.

A 31 year-old quarterback.

A 31 year old quarterback who hasn't been good since 2006-07.

That is one of the worst trades ever.

Thats like Bucks GM level thinking. The Raiders could be a wildcard team THIS year with that trade, and maybe even compete for the division, and be a wildcard caliber team for the next couple years. Visions of short term $ are dancing in their heads.

I thought the Bengals wouldn't trade Palmer. What a surprise.

Well, they do only have a 5th round pick. Can't really pick one early.. :D

The Raiders only have a 5th round pick, not the Bengals.
