Week 9: Non-Packers

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Tue Nov 1, 2011 4:00 pm

NFC:

Seahawks at Cowboys
Falcons at Colts
Bucs at Saints
Niners at Redskins
Giants at Patriots
Rams at Cardinals
Bears at Eagles

Decent AFC games:

Jets at Bills
Bengals at Titans
Ravens at Steelers

Honestly wouldn't be upset with Chicago knocking off Philly at all.

Yeah, I'd just assume the Eagles not make the playoffs. Bears are more or less already out of it, assuming Detroit doesn't completely fall off.

2011 Eagles = 2010 Packers. No other team wanted either of those teams to get into the playoffs.

Niners will probably go to 7-1 this week. I looked at their schedule too, and they don't have to play a lot of tough teams for the rest of the season. Could they challenge the Pack for HFA? I doubt it, but who knows.

Yeah, it's quite possible that all NFC North teams are better than the 3 NFC West teams outside of San Fran. Actually it's probable.

I feel like the Eagles can't play consistently enough to win 4 games in a row against quality competition. Their identity (and their fate) is tied to Vick, and he's bound to have a stinker in there somewhere.

Yes but in a one game elimination scenario they aren't a team you want to face is the point he was making I think.

Alex Smith v. Aaron Rodgers in the NFC Championship game. That would be an interesting matchup from a story perspective but I'd have to imagine we'd roll.

Maybe San Fran really did make the right choice in the draft...

Arodge has already peaked. Alex Smith is just now coming into his own.

I think we will get the #1 seed, but I SF has the most likely shot of the NFC teams to contend for it. Remaining schedules of the playoff contenders (by DVOA):

5-2 Giants (toughest)
6-2 Lions (3rd toughest)
5-3 Saints (7th toughest)
4-3 Bucs (8th toughest)
7-0 Packers (9th toughest)
4-3 Bears (19th toughest)
3-4 Eagles (22nd toughest)
3-4 Cowboys (23rd toughest)
4-3 Falcons (26th toughest)
6-1 Niners (easiest)

Think we end up with Packers-Niners-Saints-Eagles as division winners, Lions as the top wild card, and after that I think it's close between Giants/Falcons/Bears/Cowboys for the last spot. Giants are the best of those four, but their schedule is asinine. Bucs still aren't good.
