Week 10: Non Packers

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Nov 7, 2011 1:49 pm

Thursday night games start this week with Oakland/San Diego.

Several good games on Sunday to enjoy with no Packer game. Early games feature Buffalo/Dallas, Pitt/Cincinnati and New Orleans/Atlanta. Two great late games in Giants/Niners and Bears/Lions. Our market will get Bears/Lions of course but I expect a lot of Giants/Niners on the Red Zone channel (for those who haven't checked out, do so, it doesn't just show games with teams in the red zone. There is continous action and you get to see a ton of games. They switch around fast. It's fun). And then the Sunday night game is Jets/Pats.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Gerald McCoy out for the remainder of the season with torn biceps, 2nd straight season. Wow, that sucks.

I haven't got to see him play a lot, but Andy Dalton seems pretty good.

Is he as good as his numbers indicate? Also, is AJ Green as impressive as his numbers suggest as well?

Dalton is legit. Loved in the draft and he's doing even better than I thought.

At the moment I think I'm going to roll with Dalton over Flacco in fantasy, started him this week and he did great.

I have him on a couple of fantasy teams too. But good fantasy player does not equal good QB. So I was just curious if anyone had got to watch him play a lot.

The Bengals seem like they are in incredible shape. Legit young QB, stud WR and a solid basis to build a team around... now they have a ton of 1sts after the ridiculous Palmer trade. If they play their cards right, they could go build a hell of a team.

Oakland doesn't have any layup wins the rest of the season. They go to Minnesota and Miami, two bad teams but ones they could lose to. They get San Diego twice, Green Bay, Chicago and Detroit. It'd be both hilarious and sad if they completely bottom out after making that ridiculously bad trade.

I think SD still wins that division, and I have a hard time at this point seeing a 2nd team from the AFC West get in, so yeah, that will not end well. Might see multiple 10 win teams miss the playoffs in the AFC.

Packers
49ers
Saints
Giants (incredibly tough schedule, but they just cleared a hurdle)
Lions
Iggles/Falcons/Bears (one of them gets eliminated tonight)

Ravens
Pats
Texans
AFC Worst Survivor (Chargers)
Stillers
Jets/Bengals

I think the Bills will fall out, but I'll mention them in the mix for that last Wild Card spot. I think they'll lose @Jets and @Pats

Definitely agree that Bears/Eagles is an elimination game tonight.

Via Deadspin.

Here is a list of quarterbacks who have had higher QB ratings against the Patriots this year than Eli Manning did yesterday:
• Chad Henne
• Philip Rivers
• Ryan Fitzpatrick
• Jason Campbell
• Mark Sanchez
• Tony Romo
• Ben Roethlisberger

(That's every non-Eli to play against New England this year.)

Yeah. You guessed it. There is no defense, and the offense has gone away. Ding, dong, the witch is dead.

Is Marvin Lewis ever going to get fired in Cincy? He's doing the same thing this year with the Bengals as he did a couple of years ago.

What a clutch coach!

What did I miss? Why would he get fired when his team is shocking everybody?

I could be wrong but I think what he was saying is that Marvin Lewis is able to put together 2-3 years of craptastic play and then have one great year that takes him off the hot seat allowing another 2-3 years of craptasticness.

Although with Dalton, Green and all of those draft picks coming from the Raiders, he might surprise us the next couple of years.

That's exactly what I was saying. Perhaps I should've clarified that.

Would be interesting to see 3 teams from the NFC North and 3 teams from the AFC north make the playoffs. I don't remember that ever happening.

Just a guess, but I'd think that it happened with there were only 3 divisions in each league.
