Week 13: Non Packers

It's amazing how fast the football season goes. Games of interest:

Atlanta at Houston - I want New Orleans to get the #2 or #3 seed so we don't have to play them until the NFC Championship game. If Atlanta overtakes them they will be #5 or #6. Go Houston.

KC at Chicago - This will be an ugly game.

St. Louis at SF - I want New Orleans to catch SF so go St. Louis. Very unlikely though.

Detroit at New Orleans - Go Saints

Non NFC game that will be interesting: Cinci at Pitt.

I agree we want Saints at 3, but don't want them catching San Fran. If they are at 3, they have to travel before GB, if they are 2, they don't. Plus, they have a better shot of losing at San Fran than they do hosting them, and I'd rather play SF in the NFCC than NO.

I wouldn't mind it if the Saints had to play in the wild card round. They're close to unbeatable at the Superdome but if you get them out of their element, they're a different team.

Yeah, I don't think it makes any sense to cheer for NO to get the #2 seed over San Fran. I want them playing on Wildcard Weekend, and having to travel for the divisional round if they win their first game. So NO getting the #3 seed would be the ideal situation for us.

It's pretty tight. I haven't looked at tiebreakers yet but the Saints are a game behind SF and a game ahead of Dallas. All 3 losses have been in the conference. I sure don't want them at #4.

Their remaining schedule isn't bad, 2 of 5 vs. .500+ teams, and both of those games are in the Superdome. I'll be surprised if they fell past #3.

Apparently the call to the commissioner didn't work.

Honestly, I'm not really concerned what seed the Saints get. I think we will eventually play them at some point, whether it is the second round or the nfc championship. I know there is always a chance they get upset (like last year), but I don't see it happening.

Patriots opened as 21 point favorites over Colts. Can anyone remember a spread that big?

Stop showing that stupid graphic about 4-7 teams have made the playoffs.

It's not as if they didn't either win a horrible division or have no competition for the Wild Card.

If 9-7 makes a Wild Card this year, I'll eat my hat.

Didn't realize Michael Robinson was Seattle's fullback. Interesting football career that guy has had.

Why can the NFL network not show a decent full replay of Lynch's touchdown? They only show it from when he breaks out of the pack on.

Eagles are a walking advertisement on how important turnover margins are.

They are also a walking advertisement for why free agency in the NFL is poop.
