That is one of the best stories I have read in a newspaper in a long long time. Outstanding work by Silverstein there.

It's an interesting article. I'm surprised there was no mention at all of Childress. Supposedly Childress was very high on Thompson's list. Childress was scheduled to interview in Minnesota, then fly to Green Bay to interview with Thompson. But Minnesota loved Childress so much after the interview that they wouldn't let him leave town without signing a contract to be head coach. So he never went to Green Bay. Had he went, who knows, Chilly may very well have been hired over McCarthy. Thank you Minnesota.

I can't imagine a very smart guy like TT thinking Chilly actually had a functioning brain.
