You might want to edit the title as some overzealous moderator from another board may think you are purposely avoiding the censor for the word rape.

Rape? RealGM's body apparently shuts down that function in the act.

I almost made a thread like this a couple of days ago. We definitely needed a pedophile free college football thread. Gophers start the season Thursday night in Vegas! 8-)

It's all downhill from there.

Haters gonna hate. :D

You guys probably didn't even realize we start the B1G @ Iowa where we will be going for a 3 year sweep of the Hawkeyes. Things could be worse, at least we have owned Iowa the last two years.

Actually one of my biggest sports fears lately has been the Gophers beating the Badgers (it has to eventually happen again soon) because it will be as if they've won the Super Bowl and if they are still a struggling team beating a good Badgers team, we'll be hearing about how the next college dynasty is on its way.

Both the FB and BB Minnesota programs are in like year 7 of the rebuild. One of these days they'll actually be relevant in one of the sports.

Gophers won't beat the Badgers this year. It's in Madison and they just don't have enough to get a W. It might be competitive until halftime like it sometimes is, but I fully expect Wisconsin to win by 2+ touchdowns, mostly through the ground. Gopher football will probably win 3-5 games, but I'm hoping for 6. The basketball team should be pretty decent since Mbakwe is coming back and Andre Hollins turned into a solid PG late last year. Losing Ralph Sampson is addition by subtraction.

We've been hearing the same thing every year on Minny basketball. Smith doesn't even have a tourney win yet. I'll believe it when I see it.

I see them having a relevant basketball team before football.

Football programs need a good head coach. Brewster was dreadful and i don't see Kill being able to cause a significant revival of Gopher football.

Your best hope is Gopher hockey but even with them being the so called state of hockey they've been woeful as well.

I think it's safe to say you picked the wrong school for sports.

Well we did go to the Frozen Four last year. :D Are you going to the Minnesota/Wisconsin hockey game at Soldier Field in February? I think I'm going to go, just haven't gotten around to checking out the ticket situation.

Football has been pretty up and down since I went to school there. There's been lots of painful losses, but for the 4 years I was there we were ranked pretty often, with our highest ranking being in the 11-13 range with Maroney and Barber. So it wasn't terrible when I was there. Brewster era was extremely painful. I'm optimistic that Kill will be able to get us back to Mason level success, but we'll see.

Absolutely not going to that. Outdoor hockey is a novelty. Once you've seen it, the shine wears off. Sight lines are usually terrible for thos games.

I've never been to an outdoor hockey game, do you think it's worth the trip from Madison for me?

Will you care if you can't see the game well and do you just want to be there for the atmosphere and experience? If it's just for the atmosphere and experience I would say it's worth it. If you plan to watch the game and don't really care about the atmosphere and experience it's not.
